Dear Supporters, Family and Friends:
"I get by with a little help from my friends" seems to only lightly touch the importance of gratitude for all my volunteers and supporters for another successful Angel Faces retreat. The girls who attended our fifth retreat absorbed everything we taught them and what they learned from each other. From yoga to embracing their physical challenges on looking "different" - they rocked.
It's hard heart work on many levels to put on a retreat of such healing energy. Both in watching the girls face the pain of their struggles and witnessing their shift in gaining hope (and tools) for a better life. Oh the rewards! I invite you to go to our website and see our new DVD on the home page. I'm confident you will see beyond what we experience in championing the girls to a better life.
One of the vehicles of healing we use is art therapy, namely creating a mosaic. The girls designed and created something beautiful from broken pieces. Sound familiar? Upon completion of the mosaic, they wrote a poem about their life journey. The art piece represents a true expression of this journey.
BROKEN PIECES
by Kathryn Dionne (a volunteer and gifted artist who assisted with the project) Though I may stumble, I will not fall. Though I may hurt, I will stand tall. For my life is a mosaic, and every stone in its place. Creating beauty from broken pieces, and grouted with grace. I am not broken, transformed am I. And on the wings of change, I will fly, fly, fly
It is my hope and dream that you continue to support and help us grow. In light and love,
