Confusion Since The Time Of Babel

A man from India speaking English may say, "please do the needful." The English speaker may say what is he talking about? Translated the answer is "please take care of it."

Dear Intercessors, As a very young and impressionable seventeen year old new convert, listening to Dr. B.R. Lakin preaching on the second coming and telling us that within five years he believed that the Lord would return, it impacted my life.
Now after thirty eight years in the ministry, His return is more apparent than ever. Is there time to carry out one more sortie before it is too late? We must act with urgency, there are still those waiting to hear.
Since the birth of Bearing Precious Seed Global two years ago, great advances have been made. The Burmese John and Romans are on their second printing in the country of Burma (Myanmar). The Isan translation for the 21 million that speak that language in Thailand is nearing completion. The bilingual English/Korean John and Romans is being formatted for its printing which will reach North and South Korea. The bilingual English/Chinese gospel of John is ready for printing. Nearly a billion people speak this language. Pastors of Kurdistan have requested help in the translation of the NT for the Kurdish language. Yura Popchenko is making progress in the Ukrainan translation of the NT. A group of missionaries and nationals of Kenya have taken on the Swahili translation since the passing of Allen Lear. Some
of these projects are new while others have been going on for years,
but all need help with your prayers and support for printing and
translation efforts.

We Need Your Help
The printing and translation work of the Chinese, Isan, Burmese, Korean, Swahili and Surani which is the Kurdish language is in immediate need of your prayers and financial support. All involved have been working hard to get to this point. Some are ready for immediate printing and distribution while others are at the beginning stage of consulting and translation, but all need some assistance. Immediate need is $40,000 to start these projects. So far we have raised $9,000. Please prayerfully consider investing in this great missionary outreach, tens of thousands will be impacted.

Preparing the Ground by Steve Combs
Most of the unreached people groups of the world can be found in the 1040 (ten forty) Window. The 1040 window is an imaginary box drawn from 100 North to 400 North Parallels from just west of Africa to east of Japan. If we extend this to 100 South we include even more unreached peoples. Nearly all the peoples who live in this large area are Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, or Animist. It should be obvious that these people think very differently than Westerners. Their backgrounds and training are different. Their basic views of the world are radically different than those in the West. We must not think that we can present the gospel to them using the same methods as we use with an American. They are liable to think that Jesus is nothing more than a Western Guru. They need more explanation before they can understand the Gospel.
The Parable of the Sower (Mt. 4) illustrates this. In the parable some of the gospel seed fell on thorny ground, some on stony ground, and some on good ground. Only the seed that fell on good ground yielded fruit. The 1040 Window is full of hearts that are thorny or stony ground. Perhaps this is why the gospel has been so slow to catch on in the Far East. How, then, can we reach them. The answer is simple, but the process to implement the solution is not. The answer to reaching them is to turn their hearts into good ground. Any farmer knows that before you can grow a good crop you have to prepare the soil. You remove stones, bushes, and trees. You plow or till the land, and you fertilize. After this, as Paul said in 1 Cor. 3, we must sow. Even then, the word must be watered after being sowed. Therefore, in some circumstances there is a lot of work to do to lay a foundation for the gospel.
In Western Europe and the Americas we have had centuries of preparation to understand the gospel. We have been taught that the Bible is God's word. We have an understanding of God as being a distinct person separate from the world and the universe, an individual as we are individuals. We are familiar with the concept of creation and of a Creator. In the 1040 Window Muslims have a similar concept of God, but many other peoples do not. As stated above, Buddhists have no concept of God at all. They especially have no concept of a Creator. Other religions see things in a variety of ways. There is a reason why the Bible starts out with "In the beginning God..." and not with "The generations of Jesus Christ..." A people must have a basic concept of the Creator God before they can understand who the Lord Jesus Christ is. In future articles we will examine some of the 1040 Window religions from the stand point of "preparing the ground."

Progress of the Ukrainian Translation Yura Popchenko
Last month I had the privilege to spend a couple of days with Yura in Chicago. My heart rejoiced to see his dedication and love for the Word of God and the people of the Ukraine. His translation progress is hard and tedious, but great progress is being made. He is one of God's choice servants dedicated to the task of properly and accurately translating the Word of God. He can and will be a great help to others translators doing the same work in other countries. Please pray for him. www.bibleua.com

News from Burma (Myanmar) This letter comes from Burma and tells of the importance of getting God's Word into the hands of the lost.
"one of our brother had distributed for 3500 copies at Magway town alone. They prented to every home in that town. Magway is the capital of Magway Division. It was so much exiting. Althought they are buddhist they are happy to read. Knowing all these news from us, one of a brother like to distribute in Mandalay widely, the whole Mandalay.
Now more than five person are asking if we can give to them for evangelism. While I am sure and believe that it will bring much fruits.
When they distributed in Magway, they found five families who are looking for pastor to teach them about our Lord Jesus Christ. My brother in Magway is so much thankful for these booklet. I believe that there will be much more who will come to Christ through the pure Word of God.
We shall be using more effectively. I shall be letting you know when there are more news when we received."

Missionary Jerry Novack will head up the Swahili Translation
Last issue we mentioned the need of someone to pick up the mantle that was left by translator Allen Lear who passed on to Heaven. Bro. Novack, fellow missionaries and nationals of Kenya have heeded the call. They will continue to translate the New Testament for those millions that speak this language. Millions are waiting for the completion of this work, please pray that the power of God will be upon their lives.
Below are the first three verses of the gospel of John in Swahili.
INJILI KAMA ILIVYOANDIKWA NA YOHANA 1
1. Hapo mwanzo kulikuwako Neno, naye Neno alikuwa na Mungu, naye Neno alikuwa Mungu. 2 Huyo alikuwa na Mungu hapo mwanzo. 3 Vyote vilifanyika kwa huyo, wala pasipo yeye hakikufanyika cho chote kilichofanyika.

Target Asia
With nearly four billion people living in Asia you can see why the need is so immense. For centuries Satan's grip has influenced the spiritual outcome of this region. His goal is to stop the advance of the gospel. It will take the most dedicated and surrendered to forge this raging sea of humanity. Again, we target Asia to give time and energy to those that are in great darkness.

Why is His Word so Effective?
There is nothing in existence that can compare to the power of God's Word.
He has promised that His Word would not return void.
Not one word of It has ever failed.
It is Eternal.
It is life changing and will transform any life that will apply Its message.
