Dear Friends;
There is little doubt about what Satan thinks of the Word of God.  He did everything in his power to destroy the Savior, Jesus Christ and we can be assured that he has turned his full attention to the written Word.  If he cannot destroy it, he will distort, disfigure, distract, discredit, disgrace, dishonor, dismantle, and dismember it. When he has accomplished his task, then the world becomes disoriented and all sense of direction is lost. It is no wonder that the very Words of God are under aggressive attack by Satan and those that he has influenced!  May we stand fast in the knowledge of His Word and proclaiming to a lost world, the life giving words that can give them hope.

Romans 10:17 "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Paul's emphasis on the Word of God was what would make a difference to these unbelieving Jews that were unknowingly following a religious system that they were taught from an early age.  He knew that it would lead them straight to hell, but the power of the Word and the convicting power of the Holy Spirit would make a difference. Today we have the means to expand the written word to all corners of this globe. Will you take part in this?

Jude 1:22 says, "And of some have compassion, making a difference:" Your intercessory prayers and compassion can make a difference.

Myanmar, "the Golden Land" Printing Burmese Scriptures
The Land known for its love of gold will soon begin another printing of the John and Romans in the Burmese language.  The Word of God is to be more desired than gold, Ps 19:10.  Gold will perish but the Word of God is eternal.  Pray for those that distribute and preach the Word.  May their undying willingness to serve reach those who live in darkness in order to show them the way to the Light.  What a thrill it is to contact the printer in Myanmar and process another order for these scriptures. Within a very short time the national pastors and missionaries will be able to take charge of the scripture and distribute them to the local population.  This will allow opportunity to see many souls saved and bring new believers to the church.

Isan for Thailand
Missionary Ron Meyers has been working for more than 21 years on the Isan translation of the New Testament. There are more than 21 million people who live in northeast Thailand.  I can only hope that most Americans will understand the tremendous need of these dear people.  They have been in extreme darkness for so long and have not had any access to the Truth.  Soon Missionary Ron Meyers will be ready to print these John and Romans including a gospel tract that is well developed.  Please pray for the funds needed to print and distribute. The Isan people desperately need the Word of God in their mother tongue.  Below you will find a link where you can see a page of a side by side of the Isan and Thai Scripture.
nation
What is a Nation?

When the Lord gave us our marching orders in Mt. 28:19-20, He told us to "teach all nations."  But, what is a Biblical nation?  In Genesis Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, and Jacob were all promised, as individuals, that God would make them into nations.  Israel, as a people descended from Jacob, is the prime example of the definition of "nation."  A nation has a common lineage, such as Israel descended from Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.  A nation also has a common language.  In the case of Israel that language is Hebrew.  A nation has common laws, like the Law of Moses.  Not all nations have official laws, but all do have a culture and customs.  Finally, a nation generally has a land in which it lives or a region in which it wanders.   In the world of Christian Missions a Biblical nation is often called a "people group."  There are many nations that have not yet been reached with the Gospel.  A practical definition of "unreached people groups" adopted by many mission agencies is "a people group in which less than 2% of the population are born again believers."  There are many more "nations' than there are "countries."  The remaining missions task is enormous as is shown by the following chart.

World Region Population    No. of Unreached Nations                    Population of Unreached Nations

It has been almost 2000 years since the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead.  In that time there has been a great deal of effort, labor, and sacrifice to reach the world with the Gospel.  Nevertheless, over one half of the individuals of the world still live in people groups that have not yet been reached.  The task is enormous, but the power of God is even greater.  Onward to the battle!

Who Will Pick Up The Mantle With The Swahili Translation?
It has been over two months since translator Allen Lear graduated to heaven.  A visit was made with Mrs. Lear to give our condolences and thank her for the years of service and sacrifice that she and her late husband gave to those who speak the Swahili language.
It seems that another missionary is responding to the call to carry on this project.   A long time missionary to Kenya has shown positive interest to involve himself and others to see the completion of this work.  The finished John and Romans have been passed on to him.  Please pray for guidance and wisdom as they press forward.

Going through past correspondence with Bro. Lear, this paragraph stood out and we thought you might want to look into the heart of a man who had a passion to see others have the Word of God in their language.

"I am truly thankful to God for His help and guidance in my life.  While living in Africa, God gave my wife and me a strong and growing love for the African people and country.  God also gave me a strong desire for them to have a Bible translated into their own language that was as accurate as possible, translated from the original words of God.  The desire for accuracy was enhanced by scientific and other training, which the Lord enabled me to do.  I am thankful to God that He has enabled me to obtain a Master of Health Science degree (MHS), and Master of Arts in Translation Studies (MA (TS))."  Allen Lear Translator

Below are the first three verses of the gospel of John in Swahili.

Next Trip To Asia
Please pray for our next trip to Asia, which will be in November and December.  The on going projects demand our care and attention.  Considerable time and travel will be dedicated to Myanmar.   The open doors in this part of the world are evident and we must pray for laborers for the harvest.
