They Are The Young David's
With so much doom and gloom, it seems to leave very little hope for our up coming leaders. These are not times to stand idle and wait for the end, but to rise up and give hope to our children that God is still on His throne and willing to show Himself strong to all that will look to Him.
Pressing forward with hope and faith will ensure that our children and their children will come through victorious. Trials are not the Christians failures but opportunities for spiritual growth. Valleys are God's paths that lead to the mountain tops. Let us stand strong for there are young David's that are watching us and seeing what we will do.

Psalms 139:14 "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."

Recently while observing my grandchildren, I gazed into their eyes wondering about their future and how God might use them or what great trial they will go through. It is comforting to know that Christ could come back at anytime, but it is also comforting to know that He is in control and ever present with me guiding and directing my life under whatever trial may come. We as grandparents and parents must live such lives in front of our children to encourage and challenge them to trust in God. We have a book called, "the Bible" that is full of wonderful and powerful illustrations of how our God delivers His children when they trust Him. I am sure that there were times that could have seemed very bleak for young David seeing the stand off of the Philistines and the children of Israel. What future would he have? What was the spiritual and emotional climate of the day? Was the leadership in government and home giving any hope for their future? I will admit that we live in very perilous times, but so have many of our predecessors. It very well could be the times just before our Lord returns for His Church and if that be the case then we must be brave and prepared for His return. But, if this is a refining process, let us be ready to stand true and raise our colors letting the world know that our King rules and that the victory belongs to Him.
We have lived in a country of great prosperity. Let us not forget that prosperity if not checked is not a friend to the expansion of the gospel. Thinking that because of our prosperity we have been able to advance, is a grave mistake. Again, we are looking to ourselves and giving the credit to our wealth and influence to conquer the world for Christ. Let us not forget, that He owns the cattle on a thousand hills, Psalms 50:10. While there have been great efforts to circle the globe proclaiming that Christ saves, we have not finished the task. God is looking and searching the earth for someone that He can show himself strong. 2 Chronicles 16:9 Asa was one that allowed God to show himself strong, but in his own safety, wealth and rest the temptation came to secure help from others in the sight of surrounding enemies that would war against Israel. God wanted to be his protector, but Asa was not willing to wait upon God and trust that He would come through. Yes, we make many decisions every day. Can you guess how many? They tell us that we make between 20,000 to 100,000 of them each day. We have been wonderfully made and those conscience and unconscious decisions made each day are done by who we are and how we are made. But when it comes to faith and trusting God for salvation, direction and protection that will build us up in His grace He wants to have a direct influence. Is there anyone that can be saved without His provision and the acceptance of it? No. When called by God to do the impossible and the odds are against us we find Him ready to show Himself strong.
Yes, our youth today must believe that God will come through and open the doors of great spiritual opportunities. Again, these are times that God can show Himself, powerful and victorious under unbelievable circumstances. He has done it in the past and He is still looking for some young David's, which will follow Him and allow God to show Himself strong and powerful. The task that is before us only becomes bigger because of our unbelief, remember that He said that our faith could move mountains. What mountain stands between you and victory?
