MOLINE GRAND OPENING TEAM - THANK YOU !!!!!

 grand opening team

MOLINE MAX MUSCLE is now open. Thank you to everyone who made it to the Moline Grand Opening event. We set an all time Quad Cities Max Muscle record for people in the door and had a great time hosting the bench press competition too.

We listed winners of the bench competition below(how many times can you bench your own body weight?) We divided the contest into weight classes so we wouldn't have someone benching a smaller weight like 170lbs against someone benching 240lbs. The results for the winners are below.

BENCH PRESS CONTEST RESULTS
below 175lb   Mark Bollaert  49 reps
175 to 200lb  Landon Martin 30 reps
200 to 215lb  Brian Bare      28 reps
215 to 250lb  Scott Lund      20 reps
Above 250lb  NO competitors

Since the bench press competition was so well attended we plan to do this again next year.  We were pretty lenient with the rules for locking out arms, keeping feet on the ground and not arching, etc.  Next year we'll try to get some better prizes and we'll also make sure the judges enforce strict form.  We'll shoot for first week in June and announce it with plenty of time to prepare.  Thanks to all who participated!!

Ou
Are you preparing for an
 ENDURANCE event ????

Many athletes don't approach endurance events with a sound nutritional strategy. This can lead to poor performance and injuries.  Some people get away with it for a while but eventually your body may  not tolerate the continual stress and lack of full recovery.  Triathaloners, marathoners and other long distance runners and riders are working out much more than "normal" and require more than a casual eating style to provide the nutrition to hold up under all the additional stress.

2TX
Stored energy in our muscle and liver is called glycogen.  Stored energy in our adipose tissue is fat. Those are the primary sources  of energy we draw from when we run, bike, etc.  The most readily available sources  of energy is stored in our muscle. Unfortunately, there is a limited amount of glycogen storage in muscle so it doesn't take long to use it up. The next most readily available source is liver glycogen.  These two energy sources would probably allow us to go at a pretty fast pace for approximately 2 hours.  Without further replenishment, we would run out of available energy after those 2 hours and we would "bonk" or "hit the wall".  If we slowed down we could start using our fat stores as the primary energy source and potentially go for days before running out.  So what?

By understanding how our bodies store and use energy we can develop a strategy to optimize these energy sources.

2TX
This chart displays how bicyclists that compete in the Tour De France have to fuel themselves to complete this grueling event.  If you notice, the nutrient intake tracks closely to the energy expenditure on a given day. Certain days require 8000kcal to recover and prepare for the next day.  We can learn from this and can apply the same strategies for our training.  Pre and post nutritional strategies should match up to your training intensity.

Beyond carbohydrate replenishment and macronutrient strategies, it is also crucial to understand why you need essential fatty acids, understand micronutrient needs and proper electrolyte balance.  Does this sound somewhat confusing?  At Max Muscle we are certified in Sports Nutrition and we can help you determine your energy expenditure as well as make suggestions to keep you off the injured list.  Come on in and ask us.  Consultations are free.

Anabol Cuts is a very unique product for men. It has a powerful "natural" testosterone booster called testofen and also a unique fat loss/appetite suppresant called Slimaluma.  This isn't a stimulating product like caffeine. It doesn't impact blood pressure, etc.  But other stores within the Max Muscle franchise sell many cases of this product every month and it has a big following. We have some customers that love this but I don't think I've done a good job promoting it and telling you about it.  It's good for us older guys. I'm doing a cycle of it right now along with some 2TX.  It has the dual affect of helping free up bound testosterone levels which equates to better recovery and easier to put on lean mass and also helps cut body fat.  Give it a try and tell me what you think. I'll publish it for others to hear. Thanks
Scott

Satiety Ingredients Product Innovation of the Year Award

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/

The 2008 Frost & Sullivan Global Appetite Suppressant and Satiety Ingredients Product Innovation of the Year Award is presented to Gencor Pacific Group for successfully creating an effective appetite suppressant ingredient - Slimaluma - for the global weight management market. The compelling scientific validation, unique mode of action, superior quality and safety standards of Slimaluma have established it at the forefront of the weight management ingredients market.

"Gencor Pacific Group's Slimaluma is a unique ingredient that has been scientifically validated for its efficacy and safety in human consumption," notes Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Natalie Watt . "A weight management ingredient like Slimaluma is critical for the success of the weight management industry, which seeks to control the ever-increasing global obesity epidemic."

Gencor Pacific Group has conducted clinical trials, toxicity and molecular studies to ensure the safety and efficacy of Slimaluma. The six toxicity studies conducted by the company are of particular significance as no other supplier has executed such measures in the weight management industry for any new ingredients.

"The product was conferred Generally Recognised as Safe (GRAS) status in 2006," comments Watt. "In addition, the company's proactive quality assurance programmes such as Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and documentation have given it a head start from a scientific and commercial viewpoint."

Slimaluma has dual and complementary properties useful in weight management, namely hunger control and fat reduction, which makes it a unique ingredient. This was proved in a clinical study where participants reported statistically significant hunger reduction, as well as loss of waist circumference and fat loss.

"The mechanism of action was confirmed in a cell line study at a cell and molecular level," adds Watt. "Slimaluma is, thus, the only scientifically validated appetite suppressant ingredient to combine fat reduction and appetite suppression."

Gencor Pacific Group has tailored Slimaluma to suit varied customer manufacturing needs and provide stability for customers who want to use the ingredient in food applications. Accordingly, it offers heat, acidic and alkaline stability.

"Such versatility has allowed Slimaluma to successfully penetrate a wide range of applications within a short time period," remarks Watt. "Slimaluma is currently used across beverages, smoothies, capsules, tablets, chocolate, meal replacements and baking applications."

The product has been successfully sold in diverse geographic regions including Japan, Malaysia, North America, South Africa and South America. Since its launch in the North American market in 2005, Slimaluma has experienced steady sales growth; in 2008 the ingredient was present in 30 different brands.

The Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Innovation of the Year is presented to the company that has demonstrated excellence in new products and technologies within its industry. The recipient company has shown innovation by launching a broad line of emerging products and technologies.

Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards recognise companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research in order to identify best practices in the industry.
