Othello 1 Theatre Auditions:
St. Lawrence's production of ''Othello'' by William Shakespeare. This tale of sexual jealousy and manipulation features wonderful characters and this production will be a great way to have some fun this semester. Auditions are on August 29 and 30th starting at 5:30 PM each in rom 268Auditions require you to memorize as much as you can for male or female monologue, available at blackletellier@live.com.
P.S. This production will be presented in English with French subtitles, and all are invited to audition! Also, if you'd like to get involved but not be onstage, feel free to email me once again, at blackletellier@live.com. Thanks, Bill Black.

Canadian armed forcesTuesday September 18, 12:00 to 14:00 in the cafeteria. Representatives from the Canadian armed forces will be on campus to present their various career opportunities.

RTC OPUS

 

If so, your RTC (OPUS) card must be renewed. Bring to room 272 before 9.00 am Tuesday September 11 2012.

If you are 19 years old or will be by September 30th, you must return your OPUS card. Your card will be "encoded" so you may keep purchasing your tickets at a student rate. This is free of charge but only happens once. Bring your cards to my desk in room 272 before September 18th at 9.00 am. The RTC will bring back new cards at the end of the day.

Light the night walk
Have some fun while helping out a great cause!
On Sept. 22, the Light the Night Walk will be taking place on the Plains of Abraham. This walk helps in raising funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Students from St-Lawrence are forming a team in order to raise money.
You can help them out in two ways:

Student Council Logo STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS
Will be held Tuesday September 11th. 
Positions available to first year students only:

Vice-President (Assisting the President with everyday student council operations)
Assistant Social Officer (Helping the social officer organize and prepare events as well as keeping records of past events).
Administrative Agent:  Person in charge of managing the Council's agenda and files in addition to over viewing seeing material distribution. This role requires astute organizational skills and the ability to be comfortable with computer works.

Position available to first year and second year students:
Artistic Director: Person in charge of creative components surrounding the Council's work. This role requires drawing and/or graphic abilities.

Campaigning starts Wednesday, September 5th and the speeches will be presented on Tuesday, September 11th. The voting will follow the speeches.

LOOKING FOR TUTORS
Tutoring
The St. Lawrence Peer-Tutoring program is actively looking for tutors to help first or second-year students in following: Math (Science and Social program), Chemistry, Physics, Macro Economics, Quantitavie Methods, Accounting.
If you are interested in offering your services to help fellow students overcome their difficulties in these subjects please see Joanne Gosselin room 272.
Peer tutors must be second or third year students.
Peer tutors are paid by Champlain St. - Lawrence for their tutoring services and it will be up to you to tell me the number of hours you are willing to offer as a peer tutor.
An obligatory training session will be set-up in the next few weeks for new tutors.

Fitness centre FALL 2012 SEMESTER: 

Monday August 20 th to Friday January 4th, 2013. (the center will be closed from October 8th to the 12th for reading week).

IMPORTANT: Everyone (teams, students, faculty) you must have a membership card to the fitness center and will be asked to show appropriate identification to the security guard or supervisor. If you can not present a card you will be asked to leave immediately. To obtain your card, please come to room 272.
