A Major Cultural Event at St. Lawrence!!

What is Open Mic? Performers sign up in room 272 (counselling office) and perform during showtime for a maximum of 15 minutes
You can perform anything you want: Songs, monologues, poetry,music...you name it!
Open Mic is like an easy going coffee shop where students, teachers and staff live out their performance fantasies!
 
How much? Admission is free.You wil be able to purchase beverages and home-baked goodies. All proceeds from the sale of tasty beverages and goodies will go to ECO-St. Lo, our local environment group, for local and global environmental initiatives.

If you have a genuine interest for people and you would like to greet prospective students who wish to visit our school, become a student-for-day volunteer! 

We ask that you greet visitors when they arrive, bring them to class and show them around school. Visits are built according to your class schedules.

St. Lawrence recycles ink cartridges! Just bring your old cartridges to the reception desk!

Inkjet cartridges are made out of plastic. Plastic is a petroleum-based product and takes about 1,000 years to decompose. Every year 300 million empty inkjet cartridges are thrown into the refuse bin. This amounts to 75,000 tons of trash.

These may end up in landfills or incinerators. An enormous amount of money is spent each year for landfill management because our landfills are filling up faster than ever.

The energy needed to produce a new product is several times the amount needed than reusing or recycling an old one. Recycling cartridges is very easily done. Most companies selling remanufactured inkjet cartridges have their own recycling programs.

The average inkjet cartridge uses 3.5 oz. of oil in its production. Imagine this quantity saved a million times over.

Remanufactured or recycled cartridges are just as good as new ones. When you buy recycled cartridges at a slightly cheaper price you are not sacrificing quality you are saving your money because money was saved by the companies remanufacturing this product.

So bring your old cartridges to the reception desk. At St. Lawrence, it's easy being green!

Students planning to go study in the States are generally required to complete SAT testing. The test is administered by the College Board. Canadian students are considered to be international students, and therefore, must register at the latest November 8, 2011 for the December 3 test date. We strongly encourage you to apply by the October 25 (early registration deadline) if you are sure of taking the test. Students planning to take both the SAT and SAT Subject tests must do so on two separate testing days.

St. Lawrence is an authorized testing center. Students wishing to take the SAT can register for the December 3 or January 28 test dates. Although St. Lawrence is an authorized testing center, you must register online at  http://sat.collegeboard.org and pay your testing fees to the College Board. Study materials are available at your library. You may also use free online practice tools or order additional practice material. The registration booklets, as well as the preparation booklets, are available in the Counselling Office, room 254.  

Our test center code is 97261 (if you don't find our name on the list, you may also search by code). If you have any questions about the registration process, you may contact Nicole Anne Daigle, Guidance Counsellor.

Hi everybody! Maybe you already saw me during Welcome Day. My name is Mathieu Gagné and I am completing a master's degree in Sciences de l'orientation at l'Université Laval . I will be completing my year-long internship at St. Lawrence and will be on campus 3 days a week.  As Nicole Anne Daigle, guidance counsellor, I will offer counselling services by appointment and will also be available at other times without appointments to answer your questions about programs, admissions, careers, etc. To take an appointment you can come in person at my office, room 273, located in Students activities, room 272. Students taking PE 103 must register with the fitness centre to complete their course. The cost for these students is $20.00 for the semester if they register before mid-term.

IMPORTANT: Everyone (teams, students, faculty) you must have a membership card to the fitness centre and will be asked to show appropriate identification to the security guard or supervisor. If you can not present a card you will be asked to leave immediately
