ECO-St. Lo
Logo Eco St Lo

Here is your green tip of the week from ECO-St. Lo, our local environment group

ECO-St. Lo wants to take action both locally and in the larger community. One way to do so  is to write letters to officials about environmental issues that disturb us.

A letter writing campaign can be extremely effective for both spreading the word about a cause and getting things done. If letters are printed in the newspaper, people who had no information about the issue can learn more.

If we send a letter to a local elected official, and convince others to do the same, he or she may actually take action. It may be surprising, but most elected officials really do take the time to read the letters that they get from their constituents. They want to know what we think - and a handwritten letter can show that we care. They are also aware that one letter reflects the views of about 500 constituents who don't take the time to write!

So join our ECO-St. Lo letter writing campaigns. Just contact Bob McBryde at  rmcbryde@slc.qc.ca  Or send Bob a MIO! He will put you on our letter writing campaign mailing list

At St Lawrence, it's easy being green!

There are two test dates: November and February. The deadline for the November test date is September 15 and the deadline for the February test date is January 15. The following website:  http://www.acoc.info/accueil/affichage.asp?B=943 explains what dentistry programs require this test. Students planning to go study in the States are generally required to complete SAT testing. The test is administered by the College Board. Canadian students are considered to be international students, and therefore, must register at the latest November 8, 2011 for the December 3 test date. We strongly encourage you to apply by the October 25 (early registration deadline) if you are sure of taking the test. Although St. Lawrence is an authorized testing center, you must register online at  http://sat.collegeboard.org and pay your testing fees to the College Board.
