Career & Educational Counselling
Whether you would like to discuss your educational and career goals, or simply have a few questions about vocational, technical or university programs, I'm here to help you out. You will find me in room 272 (office 275).
Although your semester is coming to an end, you should know that career and educational counselling services stay open during most of the summer. Simply contact me through MIO or by phone (ext. 218) to set up an appointment.
Now that classes are over, I no longer follow the class schedule, but find a time that is convenient for both you and me.
When my door is open, you can "walk in" if you have a question. I no longer have regular "drop-in" periods since my schedule is not as full. Since I may be off-campus some days for training or meetings, please do not "drop in" if you are coming to school only to see me. I wouldn't want you to come face to face with a closed door. Please schedule an appointment. My vacation days will be posted directly on my door.
I hope your exams go well. Enjoy your summer!

Green tip of the week from your ECO-ST. Lo, your local environment group.
Did you know that the average meal travels about 32,000 kilometres before it reaches your plate? Most ingredients are trucked or flown in before being packaged and sold.Just imagine the amount of greenhouse gas this generates! So why not eat stuff grown closer to home? Think of the benefits: *A better deal for local farmers and our rural economies; *Better tasting food; food from afar loses freshness as well as vitamins; and *A great reduction of greenhouse gas emissions: a conventional meal generates between 4 and 17 times the emissions of a locally sourced one. So check out labels and buy locally this summer. And why not all year 'round? At St. Lawrence it's easy being green!

CEGEP and University Updates
University Admissions - Fall 2011
Although you may have missed the March 1st deadline for limited admissions programs, universities are still accepting applicants in certain programs:
Site de l'ACOC - admission tardive
Ottawa University
For students going to Ottawa next fall:
Did you know that you could get a higher scholarship if your grades improve with your last semester? They calculate the average for their admission scholarships by taking your 6 strongest marks (including one English course). If you think you could get a higher scholarship with your current semester, contact the university once your grades come in.
Did you confirm your attendance?
If you have not accepted an offer from a university, you should be doing so by the deadline (and earlier for those who plan on living in residence). You must also decline an offer if you do not plan on attending by the deadline. Other students may be waiting for a spot and the earlier they know the better.
CEGEP - SRACQ
http://www.sracq.qc.ca/
Deadline for third-round admissions is June 1, 2011.
