STUDENT ART EXHIBITION 3rd floor corridor
Art supplies « Sculpture and Mask Studies » is an exhibition of one the first projects of the students of Studio Art: Drawing. Each student chose a high contrast, black and white image from a variety of images of a sculpture or mask from ancient to contemporary sources. Having studied the lighting effects used by painters such as Caravaggio, Vermeer, and Rembrandt, each student has made a monochrome (black and white and grey) study trying to show a wide range of values from light to dark. Each image portrays a sense of volume by using a variety of drawing techniques including gradation, use of texture and line.

Green tip of the week from your ECO-ST. Lo, your local environment group.

How about changing search engines:

Ecosia is a web search engine founded in Wittenberg, Germany in 2009. Ecosia is powered by Bing and Yahoo!, and comes from Christian Kroll, the founder of several self-proclamed green search engines such as Forestle[1]. Dubbed by Ecosia's press release "the greenest search engine in the globe"[2] Ecosia has been online since 3 December 2009[3].

Ecosia is a privately owned for-profit company that has pledged to donate at least 80% of their revenues to a rainforest protection program run by the WWF[4][5]. According to Ecosia, every search will save about 21 square feet (2.0 m2) of tropical forest[6].

Ecosia builds on an idea by Swedish Ph.D. student Pedro Bentancour Garin, who founded Treehoo, the world's first green search engine in the beginning of 2008.

At St. Lawrence it's easy being green!
