Greetings!

aJoin me at Red Barn Mercantile for a free workshop on organizing.  You will love the products featured in this fun and unique store and you can pick up a few organizing ideas!

When:

7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.,
Tuesday, February 22.

Where:

Red Barn Mercantile,
113 S. Columbus St.,
in Old Town Alexandria.

What:

We will chat about decluttering, drawer straightening and finding storage and other organizational objects that are both fun and functional.

We'll munch a little cheese, sip a little wine and save plenty of time for Q&A.

It's free but please pre-register here so we know how many to expect.  See you there!

bThank You, Thank You, Thank You!

So many of you dropped off bags of shoes or called to have them picked up that I delivered a trunk full (and I have a huge trunk) of shoes to Scott for his Soles for Souls shoe drive.  Read Scott's Blog about his trip to Haiti. Your generous contributiions made a difference.

cFavorite Organizing Products

My latest favorite - anything Magnetic!  I have 3 IKEA magnetic knife racks in my kitchen - one for knives, one for the latest photos of my grandsons and one for their treasured artwork.  I also have a magnetic panel behind my stove with magnetic boxes to hold my most used utensils (that aren't in the utensil crock) like the rubber spatulas and whisks, especially the really small ones that always get lost in the utensil drawer!  I use a tablespoon measure every day so I keep a magnetic one on the knife rack.

My office has three magnetic boards.  Mine has a container to hold my reading glasses, one to hold event tickets and several magnets and clips to keep the items I need in front of me while I work.  My husband's magnetic board has a calendar, iTunes gift cards, and an inspirational print.  The third board has - yes, you guess it - photos of our four grandsons!

There's a magnetic hook on the side of my dryer for a pair of scissors - handy for snipping off threads (or scratchy labels) as items come out of the dryer or removing tags from new items before laundering.

I have a magnetic bar on my large tool box to use as as a holding area for just used tools that I haven't had a chance to return to their proper place.

And finally, I have a magnetic bar at my dressing table.  It holds all the essentials like nail scissors, nail clippers, a file, a tweezer, and a few hair clips.

IKEA has an easy to install magnetic knife rack, Amazon has a great bamboo kitchen utensil holder, and you can find a variety of magnetic holders, hooks and clips at office supply stores, the Container Store and IKEA.

Happy Organizing,

Judy
