GO OrganizingTip
Organize your garage before the weather turns hot.  That doesn't mean take everything out, sweep and put it all back in!  Ask yourself these questions about each item:
  1. Do I really need this?
  2. Is it useable or is it trash?
  3. Could some-one else get more use out of this than I do?

Based on your answers, discard or donate.  Don't forget about www.freecycle.com and properly dispose of chemicals and hazardous waste.  Send us an e-mail if you're not sure how or where to recycle and we'll help you out.

Welcome Lisa Knapp
Please welcome Gently Organized's new administrative assistant, Lisa Knapp. Many of you will be hearing from Lisa by phone or email as she updates records and does appointment follow-up. Lisa comes to us with an interesting background and many skills. She graduated from George Mason University with a BA in Art History and worked at the National Building Museum and the National Gallery of Art. Lisa is now a a stay-at-home mom and, best of all, she's ORGANIZED!
Gently Organized Training
Gently Organized is now offering training classes. To see our schedule and register, go to www.gentlyorganized.com/classes

In March, Judy is teaming up with one of organizing's best, Scott Roewer of www.SolutionsbyScott, to offer an Introduction to Professional Organizing.  This is a class for prospective new organizers looking for a career change.  The class will be held on Saturday, March 14 from 1 to 4 p.m.

In April, Judy and one of Gently Organized's top paper organizers, Dianna Lopez, will offer a Home Office Paper Organizing class.  The class will be held on Wednesday, April 15 from 6 to 9 pm.

All classes are held at 1900 Mount Vernon Avenue in the Octameron Associates Building (across from LaStrada Restaurant) in the Del Ray section of Alexandria, VA.

Register early; class size is limited!
After one last snow, spring is in the air.  We are ready to throw open the windows and freshen up our homes and offices.  We are getting calls from our office clients to do a "dump day" and from our home clients to organize their closets from winter to summer.

The economy has us thinking of ways to consume less and make better use of what we already have.  If you aren't organized, that's hard to do.  You have to know where your things are in order to use them!

Consider our Home Office Paper Organizing class as a way to save money.  Bring in a box or bag of the papers you need to organize - we do the rest.  You get the same personalized service at less than half the price of a home visit!  It's a great deal and who doesn't want to save money and get organized at the same time?

Thanks for reading our first GO News!  We hope you like it and welcome your feedback.

Sincerely,

Judy Parkins
