Save the Date - Art in Action Benefit

Congratulations to the new Art in Action Auxiliary on having a fast start and creating excellent organization for the March 10, 2008 benefit Atelier d'Artistes! This committee of experienced event planners has organized an exciting luncheon with an outstanding speaker - wildlife artist Laura Regan. Before the luncheon, guests will observe demonstrating artists, shop in an art boutique, admire excellent student artwork, and bid in the silent auction. For more information about this event or to request an invitation, contact Art in Action or visit our website.
E-magination is a monthly art resource for parents and teachers using the Art in Action program. To suggest events, submit articles, ask questions or give feedback, contact us on-line or call 650.566.8339.
Thank you!

Art in Action thanks the San Francisco Foundation for their recent grant of $10,000.
This grant will help us expand our K-8 programs and teacher training to 50 new classrooms in Bay Area schools in 2008. It is because of ongoing supporters like them, that we have been so successful in achieving our mission of bringing a quality visual art program to children in the Bay Area. We thank them for making a difference.

California State PTA

A landmark study from independent research institute SRI International, for the first time systemically examines the status of arts education in California. The report reveals that the vast majority of California's schools fails to meet state standards for teaching the arts and that access to arts instruction varies widely among the state's schools.
