Greetings!
It's Christmaaasss and little is calm and far from bright amid the "oh blow it" retail blow outs and MENSA-style challenge of trying to squeeze a beast the size of the Goodyear blimp into your freezer box.
If you, like me, have loaded up on the Berrocca and Alka Seltzer as an antidote to the seasonal spirit, you may also be considering a night out at the pantomime.
A bit of an unnecessary festive tradition like heartburn and the family row, the panto is an outmoded concept for many for whom their family, friends or even themselves could make up a cast list of colourful characters.
So here, m'dears, for your delectation is a little bit of fun from your coaching fairy godmother, who has manifested some familiar panto favourites for you to identify and empathise with. Which one do you know or will you be this year?

Snow White
Clearing up after others, the people-pleasing pal for whom nothing is too big a favour she whistles while she works and groans when alone -"where's my share?"
With a song in her heart and a sigh in her chest she puts others' needs before her own. One day her prince might come but then again she might be too busy picking up her mates from the airport to see him.
Sleeping Beauty
Our heroine has just realized she has "drifted" or sleepwalked through another job/relationship/missed opportunity.
"Why aren't I having fun yet?" she yawns while her friends dash out to salsa clubs, get promotions or find their knight in shining Armani. When will she wake up, boys and girls?
Jack and the Beanstalk
Always chasing the golden goose our hero puts in the hours but seems to be invisible.
He's not getting the breaks, the corporate beanstalk seems to be getting longer and higher and none of it mounts to hill of beans. Look behind you Jack!
Aladdin
Keeps on rubbing that lamp and hoping a genie will come and help get him fit, create his dream job, give him the confidence to speak up in meetings and present him the gift of a meaningful and purposeful life.
Is that a callous we see on his hand? Keep on rubbing, Lad.
Wishy Washy
Shall I? Shant I? The master of procrastination with a degree in avoidance.
Who will grant the well-meaning and full-of-dreams Wishy Washy the gift of responsibility and commitment? Oh yes I will, Oh no I wont!
Robinson Crusoe
The desert island dreamer for whom life is one big travel adventure. But it's hard to put down roots when you return to "real" life, rain and redundancies.
And besides, a wicked fairy has cast a spell that makes him think the grass is always greener.
Fret not, each and every one of you shall go to the ball and all with the aid of this golden coach (ahem) and my magic horses - Goals, Motivation and Inspiration.

Here is your magic ticket caroleann@realcoachingco.com - a half hour trial session which could be a magic carpet ride to happy ever after. Use it now. |
