Greetings!

Y'now, just like the Yellow Pages, coaches aren't here for the bad things in life. The burst pipes, floods and gas leaks of our daily existence, the crossroads, downslides and U-turns of life's highways; all grist to our pepper mills.
But I also like to think of us as the Lost and Found officers of life.  A place where you can retrieve a lost sense of self, reclaim your potential and find your true path.   But sometimes as humans we aren't even aware that we are living in deficit; bereft of something we have completely overlooked.
One of the unusual by products of coaching is the realisation our clients have is that along the way they forgot to have fun, a life or any sort of goal on their journey.
We all do it.
Work, worry, fear and procrastination get in the way and when we look up from the world we have created around us we are wondering why it's about as appealing as a life sentence in Albert Square with the Queen Vic permanently closed and Bianca as a neighbour.
Unlike those terribly sad notices you see pinned to lampposts by people searching for runaway pets, we can't advertise our missing sense of self.

Grin and Tonic

I lost my sense of humour the other day and it was no laughing matter I can tell you.  I looked everywhere for it.  In my bank statement, amongst my bills, in the mirror. But nothing, nada, zilch.  Not so much as a titter.
After much digging and unearthing in the handbag of  my mind I found it again languishing in the bottom of a glass of sauvignon blanc and a Wispa bar (yes, they're back!) and a blast of Tom Waits pretty much added the tonic to my grin.

I doubt my prescription would suit your needs.  But that brings me to the crux of this newsletter - what would it take to make your heart sing?  Have you forgotten what fun feels like?  Have your laughing muscles gone slack?
When was the last time you felt truly enthusiastic, thrilled or delightfully excited?  What makes your eyes bright with wonderment?

Jumping on the beach

If life's lost its flavour, you blame Michael Fish for every grey day and if you'd like to really reclaim your smile and reason for being here, join me in the Ministry of Fun.
Launching in January it will be a F'ree teleclass (you ring a number, I'm there on the line, with others like you) where we will plan the following for 2009:
  • Clear and achievable goals
  • Developing a fun fund!
  • Creating a community to support your dreams
  • Getting what you want - at last!
Yes, you read it right.  The one hour teleclass will not cost you a bean.  It's my gift to you.  I want all of you who have never had access to a coach because of cost or confidence to come on board, share your dreams and take the first step to making them reality.
And above all else to have FUN doing it too.  Numbers will be limited so please book your place early.  The Ministry of Fun inaugural teleclass will be held on Tuesday 13th January at 7pm.  To book your place now simply email me caroleann@realcoachingco.com and put Ministry of Fun in the subject line.
Places booked on a first come first secured basis.  Make 2009 sublime and do it now.
Talk To Me

I have been producing these newsletters monthly for nearly 4 years and now it's your chance to tell me what you think of them.  What do you like and don't like?  What would you like to hear more of?  How do you think newsletters work best?  Do you like the Pollyanna "everything is possible" approach or the "keeping it real" downbeat style?
The best feedback email I get will win the author 2 one hour coaching session with me.

An Unsolicited Testimonial

One thing that really does give me an instant face lift without Botox is hearing how my clients are creating wonderful lives for themselves.  Only this week I received this.
"I've just got off the phone and I feel raring to go! Thank you so much, Carole Ann, you really motivate me.  But what's really weird is that I was thinking of all the things a year ago I wanted to achieve; do a degree course alongside my day job, have a better relationship with T, learn to say "no" more often and get a dog!  And it's suddenly occurred to me that I've got or am doing all those things.  Thank you so much for getting me there." - Sarah
Trust me, Sarah did that all by herself.

Thanks to Gwen who sent in this: "Anyone who asks you if you watch the X Factor and if you say you don't thinks somehow you're the one who hasn't got a life on a Saturday night!"
