School Business Community Partnership Brokers and Youth Connection Providers

As you are aware the Federal Government reallocated funds under the Youth Transitions and Attainment model and funded two new projects: Youth Connections and School Business Community Partnership Brokers. All the regions across Australia have now been allocated a provider for these two programs.

But what does this mean to your program?
Mentoring programs even if you are not funded under this project you should still get to know the School Business Community Partnership Broker for your region. The Brokers have been funded to draw together education and training providers; business and industry; parents and families and community groups to provide a whole of community approach to supporting the young people in their region.

As a youth mentoring program, Brokers may use your organisation as a referral point for young people in need and you might contact your Broker to find additional support services for your clients.

To learn more about the role of the Brokers, locate your region and find who is your provider visit the DEEWR website.

CameraThank you to everyone who updated their profile on our website or notified us of their correct details. It is important that your program details on our website are correct to ensure that the information we provide to potential volunteers, teachers, parents and young people remains accurate.

We would like to congratulate the winner of our Canon competition - Ken Innes from the Kokoda Youth Mentoring Project.

The Kokoda Youth Mentoring Program is a twelve month program designed to provide local disengaged youth 14-18 years with an opportunity to connect themselves with mainstream society. The program provides young people with links into education, training and employment through the support and assistance of the mentors whom many are successful business people in the community and are consequently willing to share their success in life with the young people.
