The Youth Mentoring Network is looking for a new Events and Communications Officer!
Your main role is to manage the Youth Mentoring Network's events and communication strategy with members and key stakeholders.
You will work with the Executive Officer to:
- promote the Youth Mentoring Network amongst mentoring program providers
- building and maintaining relationships with network members
- monitoring and assessing the needs of network members
- developing practical services and resources for practitioners
- providing coordinated access to available resources
- organising events and activities
- building and sharing a strong knowledge base to improve mentoring practice.
The successful applicant must have experience in creating and managing community events (conferences, forums and workshops), practical understanding of youth development and/or mentoring issues, ability to plan and deliver quality output on time and a demonstrated understanding of online and other communication technologies.
This position is a contract position which will be reviewed prior to the 30th of September 2008, at which time either the contract will expire or be extended within future funding requirements.

National Youth Week 2008
Do you have a great idea for a National Youth Week event (which will be held from 5 April to 13 April 2008)? The Victorian Government, in partnership with Beyond Blue, is offering 2008 National Youth Week grants to celebrate and recognise the value of young people in their communities. The grants are for diverse groups of young people to organise local projects, events and activities for other young people. Grants of up to $2,000 are available to young people supported by their not-for-profit community organisation during National Youth Week.

The Western Australian Government is also offering grants of up to $1,000 to youth organisations to stage events and activities during National Youth Week.

NRGize Perth
The NRGize workshop held in Perth from October 30th - 1st November 2007 in partnership with the YMCA Perth was a wonderful success. Everyone who attended brought plenty of energy and made it a fantastic event. A huge thank you to everyone who attended.
This will be the last NRGize for the year. More NRGize workshops will be held in 2008. In the meantime, further information regarding NRGize, and the NRGize training manual, can be found on our website.
