Certified Tobacconists have been sprouting up everywhere over the last few months.  From Miami to Kansas City, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Washington DC and even New Jersey; there are now Certified Tobacconists working in over twenty five states and the District of Columbia. 

 

Since our last newsletter we have Certified extraordinary Tobacconists from Georgetown Tobacco in D.C. and C.I.G.A.R. in San Antonio - and this is just the beginning for them.  These retailers are at the top of their field and they honor TU, our industry, and their customers with their passion and commitment.

 

  

In addition to the Miami Cigar & Co. in-house salesforce and office staff, we recently certified a CST from Davidoff of Geneva, Thomas G. Smith Jr.  

 

Tobacconist University is proud to tell retail Tobacconists  that our CST have proven their tobacco, accoutrements, taste, and service knowledge; they have committed themselves to the Code of Ethics & Standards; they have studied hard and scored better than 90% on the final exam; and they have paid Tobacconist University for the privilege to service retail Tobacconists with the credentials: Certified Salesforce Tobacconist (CST).  These are our industry's most exemplary sales professionals - they have talked the talk, and walked the walk - put their money where their mouth is - acted on conviction - and proven their substance.   

 

Over the coming months, many more CST will join Tobacconist University; they will administer the final exam to retailers and help us spread our credibility and promotional leverage.  If you do not have a CST in your area who can bring you the final exam, encourage the salespeople that service you to become certified - they could surely benefit from the education.  

Remember, TU is the I.P.C.P.R.'s Official Curriculum Resource for Professional Tobacconists.  All I.P.C.P.R. retail members qualify for free certification: a $250 value, per person.

 

Our first 'official' I.P.C.P.R. convention in Las Vegas was an astounding success.  We were overwhelmed with curiosity, gratitude, and more than eighty new retailers who signed up to become Certified!  We certified several new CRT at our booth, signed up new CST, and got great feedback from our existing CRT and Apprentices.  Thank you for your support.

TU provides 12 E-Seminars (multi-media and hotlinked emails), as a study guide to the Academic Curriculum.  The Seminars start every first Monday of the month and continue for six weeks - on Mondays and Wednesdays. 

Send us an email if you would like to be included and we will sign you up for the next round.  Make sure you let us know at least two weeks ahead of time so we can get you the Introduction Email; which will allow you to accept the Code of Ethics & Standards and become an official TU Certified Retail Tobacconist Apprentice - this will get you listed on the Certified Tobacconist webpage.
