A Word from the Director
The Recreation District is gearing up for another big summer! Did you know that we provide summer day camps at 17 different sites in Greenville County and that we are responsible for over 1,200 children every day for 10 weeks?
Did you know that we hire over 200 counselors, life guards, concession and maintenance workers every summer? If you are interested in being part of our team, join us for our summer job fair at the Pavilion Recreation Complex this Saturday from 1:00 pm till 4:00 pm. You are invited to fill out an application and participate in a short interview. Since our job is recreation, we believe GCRD should be a fun place to work, so come out to the Pavilion and see what we have planned for this summer!

Greenville Hospital System Swamp Rabbit Tram Trail |
Everyone wants to know when the Greenville Hospital System Swamp Rabbit Tram Trail is scheduled to open. The accurate answer here is that it's too early to really commit to an opening date. We do want to keep you updated on the progress, however. We're currently taking a serious look at a new surface product that is environmentally friendly and much more economical than asphalt. This is exciting to think that the potential is there to build a trail that is really "green". Visit our website for updates. |
| Travelers Rest High School Cheers for Spearhead |
|
Students at Travelers Rest High School have selected Camp Spearhead as one of their Spirit Week Projects. Proceeds from this fund raising effort will help to advance the capital campaign to build a permanent home for this program that serves individuals with special needs and disabilities at Pleasant Ridge Park. We are grateful and humbled by their support. |
