With your help in 2010
| This year your help allowed us to:
- provide educational sponsorships for
children in Vietnam who depend on them
- offer services to the unwed mothers at
Sharon's Home in South Korea
- provide orphanage aid to the children waiting to be adopted
- sponsor development of two new
orphanages in India
Each of these programs has made an enormous difference in
the life of a child. Over 400 children in Vietnam wait each year to find out if
they will be attending school that year. For the mothers in Korea, Sharon's Home
is a place for them to learn job skills, get proper medical care and decide on their and their children's futures. If they decide to parent their child they will
leave the home with the ability to find a job and a knowledge of good parenting.
If they decide on an adoption plan then they are provided with information and counseling. For the children in India Dillon's sponsorship of
their orphanage will ensure clean, up-to-date facilities, regular medical care
and dependable daily care.
These are just a few of the ongoing programs supported
through Dillon International and our supporters. For more about our programs check out the orphanCare website and watch for the 2011 orphanCare booklet, coming in November.

Mary Dreesen and her husband, Michael, live in Tulsa, OK with their two children. Mary is the committee chair for the 2011 Dillon benefit run.
"Wow, what an amazingly different life we have now compared
to three years ago. Where do I begin to
express our feelings for Dillon International?
When we started looking into adoption back in 2006 we had been told to
look at Dillon as they were located here in our city. As I investigated online and visited with people I was so impressed. The more I learned about who Dillon International
was, their belief, their mission and just the overall love and support they have for
children across the globe the more impressed I became. Their
statement of faith was so important to us as I knew we were praying as a family
that the right child be placed with us and knowing that our agency was praying
over the children they placed meant so much.
As anyone who has gone through the adoption process knows,
it can be difficult. But Dillon's staff was, and continues to be, such a strong
support for any questions or concerns that developed. I was impressed with both the pre- and post-adoption support that Dillon offers and
I've been fortunate to be able to volunteer as a teacher for the last
three years at Dillon's Korea Heritage Camp. I look forward to next year's camp as I will finally have a child old enough to be a 'camper.' It is such a joy to watch these kids come
together and interact. The lengths that
Dillon goes through to make sure these camps are 'authentic' amazes me and are
a testament of their continued love for the children.
One area where I have personally become educated as we have
gone through our adoptions is the overall needs of children across the
globe. Unfortunately, not all children
are going to be adopted, but they need support and love just as any other
child. I am so happy that Dillon
continues its support for children through orphanCARE International, providing
an opportunity for people to give to a trusted organization and knowing that
their funds are being used for the children.
I'm excited to be able to volunteer my time as head of the planning committee bringing back Dillon's benefit 5k run. Stay tuned for more information on this upcoming event!"
