We are half way through 2010 and we have so many great
stories to share! Because of your
donations, many children have been blessed with much needed medical treatments, received better daily care or attended school for the first time. There are even some students who have received scholarships from Dillon over the past six years and just graduated!
What a difference you are making!

A Story to Share...
| In the Dillon Boys' Home the boys go to
school each day. Then in the evenings they
each have duties to help around the home, along
with
doing their homework. The boys
consider each other brothers, they play together and help each other
just as any
family does. We recently received some letters from the boys
thanking our
donors for the continued support. They wanted us to share
with
you that they will continue to do well in school, be on their best
behavior
and grow up to be successful. The
youngest boy, eight-year-old Van, wants to be a soccer player when he
grows up. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Hung, the oldest boy, is now in
vocational school mastering the art of
metal work (which he loves). The boys
are all 8 to 18 years old and have varied interests and dreams for the future...pilot,
engineer,
painter, singer, teacher and doctor.
Thomas reminded us of the
continued need for support to provide these boys with food and medical
care, education and clothing. Dillon also provides educational
scholarships for 400 children in Vietnam who are currently waiting to
find out if there will be funding for them to attend school in the fall. Thank
you for being a part of this - the children are living
the difference every day. To help these and many more children in Vietnam click the donate button below.

In addition to reminding families of the ongoing need for daily necessities such as formula, diapers and medical care, Anju
spoke to families at India Camp this year about her dream facility.
Currently she has two buildings--one for the babies and one for older children with special needs--but only one vehicle. Anju said that having two separate buildings makes it complicated to care for all the children. She hopes to build one large facility in Kolkata where the babies
and the older children could be under one roof and
near the medical staff at the local hospital. The anticipated cost is $350,000. If you would like to help the babies and children in Anju's care click the donate button below.
Anju attended India Camp this year. During her visit she spoke with the families about the orphanages and her hopes for the future.

Thomas and his daughter, Nancy, visited Tulsa in June to see families and update us on the current needs in Vietnam. The children loved seeing him again! | |

Join other Dillon families this August in New York! |
Dillon Mom Maggie Alsworth is organizing a family weekend event in Binghamton, NY on August 20 and 21. This will be an awesome opportunity to meet or catch up with families in your area and see Jerry and Deniese Dillon and Leo and Shirley Damboise.
Because we want all our families to be able to come--even those who live farther than a few hours from Binghamton--we have blocked off several rooms at the Holiday Inn Express in Vestal. Use the code DIR to receive Dillon's special price on rooms. The rooms will be held until July 20; after that date families can still get the Dillon price, but room availability is not guaranteed.
If you live in New York, or just want to join in the fun, email caitlin@dillonadopt.com for the event details!

Monthly Feature |
Natasha Perryman and her husband, Adam, live in Tulsa, OK with their two Vietnamese children. This is Natasha's fifth year to serve as the nursery
coordinator for Dillon's Heritage Camps. WAY TO GO NATASHA!
"We chose to pursue adoption as God's first-best plan for our
family. We knew that children throughout the world had been placed in our hearts
and we were excited to begin our adventure as a multi-cultural family.
We
started by seeking agencies that could aid us in our call to adopt, which
as we all know, can be an adventure in itself!
We were looking for a personable agency that had an outstanding
reputation with high integrity. When we found Dillon, we could feel their love for
the children who were in their care and they had superior humanitarian aid
projects. During our process they held our hand through all the ups and downs,
praying for us and helping us keep our eyes on the prize. Working with Dillon
International has far exceeded my expectations. They are a part of our family
forever.
In 2005, Dillon was looking for someone to be the nursery
coordinator for India, China and Korea Heritage camps. I jumped at this
opportunity and have been blessed to continue serving these beautiful children
each year. This summer, our daughter has attended four different country camps and
has been submerged in marvelous cultures.
I am passionate about heritage camps and thoroughly believe
that, regardless of country, they instill a deep sense of pride in each
child. Camp exposes the children to the beauty of their birth country through dance,
song, food, clothing, language, arts and crafts, stories, cooking and of
course, being with other children who look like them and are also in similar
families.
There are many ways for families to stay connected to the
beauty of their child's birth land, such as fixing specialty foods, reading
diverse books, seeking out friends or churches in your community, attending
language classes, shopping at ethnic grocery stores and attending cultural
events. Any cultural effort will not only enrich your children's lives, but
your own as well!"
