Dillon Rockstars!
Monthly Feature |
Amy Hoselton, adoptive mom of two, is a GO-GETTER! She is very involved with the adoptive parents in her area, bringing everyone together. From zoo days to dinner celebrations, families have found each other through her many efforts. Way to go Amy!!
"Dillon provided my husband and I a unique, rich, Christian way to build our family and now Dillon provides ways to enrich our family. When my son first came home from Korea, I vowed that I would do whatever it took to keep him in contact with other Korean adoptees and I did this by getting together often with other local adoptive families. By the time my daughter came home from Korea, I had become a Dillon Area Rep. Through Dillon's strong support, I started organizing more playdates, picnics and parties, along with the tremendous committment from other families in my area who also understood the need that our families had for one another, the need for our children to grow up around other adoptees who look like them. My kids are now 5 and 6. Most of their favorite friends are adoptees like themselves. At our recent Christmas party, I watched a Korean adoptee just stare at my son, who was around the same age as him... I overheard this boy's brother telling him that my son looked just like him. When I see things like that happen, I am even more encouraged to keep our kids together. Because of Dillon, I will always have ways to keep my kids in contact with other adoptees. We are very grateful."

Haiti Relief |
We are so grateful to all of you who have helped with the earthquake relief in Haiti during the past week. You have helped to raise more than $40,000 (so far) for food, fuel for the hospital's generators, mattresses for the hospital, and much more. Gladys Thomas, the director of programs in Haiti, left New York Monday with a team of volunteers - medical and trained relief teams. They flew into the Dominican Republic and drove a bus overflowing with supplies into Port-au-Prince.
Today we learned the greatest needs are mattresses, x-ray film and cauterization machines. If you have medical connections please contact our office. The need is great and the people of Haiti are blessed to have such caring neighbors in the world.
