 Internationale samenwerking, ook ANVAG is betrokken
International Ayurvedic Cooperation Last year the APA signed two international cooperation agreements: one with the US National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) and another with the German Professional Association for Ayurveda Practitioners and Therapists (VEAT). Out of this cooperation emerged the idea to create a global forum for Ayurvedic professional associations; a forum guided by principles of unity and support that could function as a meeting space for committed leaders of the international Ayurvedic community to address global concerns of our profession. Two months ago, this group forum was given a name: the International Alliance of Ayurvedic Professional Associations (IAAPA). Currently, the IAAPA has the following member associations: APA, EURAMA, NAMA (USA), VEAT (Germany & Austria), VSAMT (Switzerland), SSIMA (Italy) and ANVAG (Netherlands). Together, they represent over 1,000 individual members, which is the majority of Ayurvedic professionals in Europe and North America. Representatives of IAAPA member organisations have been meeting regularly by conference call for the past months and will meet in person on 3rd & 4th September in Germany to agree on modes of communication and cooperation for the alliance. After this, other Ayurveda associations will be invited to participate in IAAPA meetings and activities. The Government of India Department of AYUSH and the All India Congress have already expressed their interest and support for the IAAPA formation.

 Dr. Vasant Lad - zomer en najaar
APA CPD Events in 2009 October 2009 Dr. Vasant Lad will be conducting a series of practically oriented seminars from 2nd - 6th October 2009 at the Bhaktivedanta Manor, Watford. The seminars will include open patient consultations (for practitioners and advanced students only), training in pulse and tongue diagnosis as well as an introduction to using vastu in the clinical context (open to all students, therapists and practitioners).
Seminar topics:
· The Art of Pulse Reading (prakruti & vikruti pulse, organ pulse)
· Ayurvedic Tongue Diagnosis
· Ancient Vastu Shastra with specific reference to Ayurveda
· Ayurvedic Clinical Assessment (incl. pulse & tongue diagnosis and assessment of jyotish chart and vastu of the patient's home)
