Imi Knoebel: Knife Cuts Part 2
On view through April 11, 2010

Imi Knoebel: Knife Cuts Part 2 is part of a series of temporary exhibitions at The Dan Flavin Art Institute in Bridgehampton, New York. First shown in 1977 at Heiner Friedrich Galerie in Cologne, Imi Knoebel's Untitled, 1977, consists of vibrantly colored paper cut outs in oil and acrylic on paper. Imi Knoebel: Knife Cuts Part 1 was on view May 22-December 2008.

Dan Flavin and the Hudson River School
Opening April 22, 2010-October 17, 2010

This presentation will include Dan Flavin's drawings of the Hudson River and the Long Island shoreline from the 1960s and 1970s and a group of late nineteenth century drawings by the Hudson River School, selected by Dan Flavin for Dia's Collection.

Franklin Sirmans is the Department Head and Curator of Contemporary Art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. He was previously the Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at The Menil Collection in Houston. In 2007 he received the David C. Driskell Prize from the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, and in 2009 was an inaugural honoree of the Gold Rush Awards by Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation.

The 2010 Spring Benefit is a day-long celebration of the programs and exhibitions at Dia:Beacon, and provides critical support for the museum. The day will commence with refreshments, followed by Trisha Brown Dance Company performance and a seated lunch amidst Andy Warhol's Shadow paintings. Guests will have an opportunity to explore several reinstalled collection galleries, and a family program will be offered during lunch.

Please note this is a ticketed event. Dia:Beacon is closed to the public on Sunday, May 2, 2010.
