NACCHO's Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health website contains news, resources, events, and funding opportunities available to local health departments. NACCHO updates this website every other week, so check back frequently for the latest information. If you have any comments or questions about the webpage, or any news or resources to contribute, e-mail mch@naccho.org.

Kids Count Mobile Data Center 

KIDS COUNT is a data-collection initiative that tracks child well-being benchmarks and indicators at the national, state, county, school district, and congressional district levels. These indicators can now be easily accessed on smartphones and other mobile devices. 
 

Partner Spotlight: Federation for Children with Special Needs

The Federation for Children with Special Needs provides information and support to families of children with disabilities, their providers, and their communities.

Text4baby 2012 Fall Sign-up Contest

NACCHO is a proud supporter of text4baby and the 2012 Text4baby State Enrollment Contest, which aims to energize state and local efforts to connect women to this service. If you are planning events or initiatives for National Infant Mortality Awareness Month in September, click here for contest information and specific tools that can support your efforts. The deadline for the Fall Sign-up is Sept. 30.

MCH Navigator: New Courses Available

The MCH Navigator connects users to free online professional development resources. The latest online courses explore opportunities to develop an understanding of the social determinants of health disparities, strengthen community partnerships, build data use capacity, and encourage critical thinking.

Connecting Moms to Health Insurance and Health Information: Ways to Integrate Medicaid/CHIP and Text4baby Enrollment
This text4baby fact sheet provides suggestions for connecting eligible children and families to Medicaid and CHIP programs and for encouraging text4baby enrollment.

Preventing Unplanned Pregnancy and Completing College: Free Online Lessons

The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy provides free online lessons to help college students prevent unplanned pregnancy.
