Adolescent Health Infrastructure Tool: Putting Positive Youth Development into Practice

Developed by the National Clearinghouse on Families and Youth, this guide outlines the concept of Positive Youth Development, an approach to engaging, encouraging, and empowering youth. This resource provides practical tips, checklists, and other tools.

National Conference of State Legislatures

The National Conference of State Legislatures advocates for a variety of health policy topics, including maternal and child health, physical activity and nutrition, and Medicaid. Offering a range of services and resources to state legislators and legislative staff, the organization promotes the health of women, children, and their families.

Strong Start Funding Opportunity Update

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is revising the Strong Start for Mothers and Newborns Funding Opportunity and extending the deadline for applications. The tentative deadline for applications is July 13.
Mental Health Promotional Ads 
The American Academy of Pediatrics developed two promotional ads to promote the importance of incorporating mental health into the primary care visit. This resource is coupled with tips on how to promote social and emotional health.

Toolkit for Planning Home Visiting Partnerships with Family, Friend, and Neighbor Caregivers

The Center for Law and Social Policy released a toolkit to support states in fostering partnerships between home visiting programs and family, friend, and neighbor caregivers. The toolkit includes a planning guide, policy recommendations, and case studies.

Growing Up LGBT in America: Youth Survey Report

The Human Rights Campaign published a study comparing lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth and their straight counterparts. Survey findings demonstrate significant disparities between the two groups and emphasize the importance of achieving health equity.

President's Challenge 2012: Healthy Babies

The President's Challenge webpage provides community-based resources and strategies to help reduce prematurity and infant mortality rates. Policies and programs highlighted on the webpage address birth outcomes at various stages within the life course.
