Shabbat Tzav
Candle Lighting: 20:00
End of Shabbat: 21:11

 Blessing Transliteration:

Boruch A-toh Ado-noi E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech Ha-olam A-sher Ki-de-shan-nu Be-mitz-vo-sov Ve-tzi-va-nu Le-had-lik Ner Shel Shabbat Ko-desh.

It is a great mitzvah and responsibility to honor the Sabbath by lighting candles 18 minutes before sunset on Friday evening. This unique commandment, entrusted to the Jewish woman, is rich with meaning and purpose.

It is very important to know the exact candle-lighting time, as we are not allowed, under any circumstances, to kindle these lights after sunset.

G-D'S  QUESTION

Before He brought forth the cosmos out of nothingness, He structured in His thought how all things would be. Even then, He struggled with it, pondering, "Should it be? Or should it not?"

Then He created all things according to that thought, and out of all things of that creation He formed Adam. And within Adam He placed this struggle, and Adam became a living being. Since then, it is in our hands: Should there be a world? Or a desolate chaos? Is G-d's creation worth His making it?

The Weekly Word
By: Rabbi Levi Y. GarelikRav -Rabbi of The European Synagogue

In His Torah, G-d gives us directives on how to live our lives and utilize the creations He placed in our world. Every person has a specific mission to accomplish by trying to keep G-d's Mitzvot to the best of his ability, and each object we encounter can be used for a positive purpose as instructed in the Torah.

However, G-d did not limit us to the things found on our planet. The Jewish calendar is based on lunar months and is also in sync with the solar cycle so that the holidays occur in the correct seasons. Therefore, the Rabbis that write the calendar must have a broad knowledge of the workings of astronomy.

At the beginning of each month on the Hebrew calendar, when a new moon appears, there is a special blessing to be recited. Additionally, this year, in the Hebrew month of Nissan, which marks the beginning of the Spring, there is a unique blessing to be said on the sun.

According to the Torah's view on the movement of the stars and planets, there is a specific place in the galaxy where G-d placed the sun at the start of the creation of the world. Once in 28 years the sun returns to that position in the Spring season, and the blessing for the sun can be said. This year we have the rare opportunity, on the day before Passover begins, to say the prayers and blessings thanking G-d for the creation of the sun, called Birkat Hachamah.

Join our community as we gather on this singular occasion to recite Birkas Hachamah April 8th Wednesday morning 8:45
Rue du cornet 22.

Wishing you a Happy and Kosher and joyous Pesach!
Yes you should!
You can makes a difference
now more then ever!
Thank you

Tzav Leviticus 6:1- 8:36

Chumashim

G-d instructs Moses to command Aaron and his sons regarding their duties and rights as Kohanim ("priests") who offer the korbanot (animal and meal offerings) in the Sanctuary.

The fire on the Altar must be kept burning at all times. In it are burned the wholly consumed Ascending Offering; veins of fat from the Peace, Sin, and Guilt Offerings; and the "handful" separated from the Meal Offering.

The Kohanim eat the meat of the Sin and Guilt Offerings and the remainder of the Meal Offering. The Peace Offering is eaten by the one who brought it, except for specified portions given to the Kohen. The holy meat of the offerings must be eaten by ritually pure persons, in their designated holy place, and within their specified time.

Aaron and his sons remain within the Sanctuary compound for seven days, during which Moses initiates them into the priesthood.

A BIT OF HUMORLaughing

Off the Wall - Street

The USA has made a new weapon that destroys people but keeps the building standing. It's called the stock market.

Do you have any idea how cheap stocks are? Wall Street is now being called Wal-Mart Street.

The problem with investment bank balance sheet is that on the left side nothing's right and on the right side nothing's left.

I want to warn people from Nigeria. If you get any emails from Washington asking for money, it's a scam. Don't fall for it.

What worries me most about the credit crunch, is that if one of my checks is returned stamped 'insufficient funds'? I won't know whether that refers to mine or the banks.
