Brian Scheppler of Bourbonnais-based BC Systems Inc. was awarded the grand prize Tuesday evening in Kankakee County's inaugural business plan competition. BC Systems is an existing environmental and instrumentation business serving the local water and wastewater industry. Founded in 2005, Brian intends to expand regionally in the near future. Second-place winner is
K&J Farms, a diversified, sustainable farm in Hopkins Park owned and operated by Keenan and Jayme Adams. Third-place finisher is GeekSpeak Inc., a computer boutique specializing in repair, education and sales, owned by Jeffrey Rice, Aaron Rice and Richard Tran.
