Unless you are one of Active's vendors, you may not know him by name or face, but if Active has produced a show for you and everything went smoothly you better believe that Steve Zaug was a big part of that. He is Active's secret weapon, the silent but lethal force that keeps Active's operation running smoothly. For the last 8 years, Steve has been apart of the Active team. Steve has learned the business from the bottom up and now is responsible for day to day operations of this production power house. Advice From A Real Pro...
If you are looking to break into the special events industry and you are not quite sure how, just ask the experts. In the May issue of Special Events Magazine's, ISES PAGES, Bill Steigerwald, CSEP looks to answer the age old question: "How do you break into event management?" Experts from various segments of the industry give their advice to anyone looking to get their foot in the door. In the article Matt Clouser states, "In this industry, it's about showing and proving, and volunteering is probably the best way to get your foot in the door." Look for more advice from Matt and other experts in the upcoming issue. You never know, this can be just the advice you need to help you get a job at a major production company like Active...(but not my job, it's taken!:-)

Active Set's The Stage For a MEC of Global Proportions ...
For the 4th consecutive year, the Georgia Chapter of Meeting Planners Internationalcalled on Active Production and Design to produce its Meetings Exploration Conference. " Become Global" was this years theme for the 2 day conference hosted by the Cobb Galleria on April 15 & 16. Attendees were treated to an array of seminars and sessions where they could sharpen their skills as well as get inspired. The much anticipated networking event, The Gathering, hosted by the Cobb Energy Centre was a sell out success! Guests ate delicious foods, "sipped" libations and danced to some cool music and entertainment. Proceeds from The Gathering benefits the Atlanta Community Food Bank. They Said It Couldn't Be Done...
But Active did it!! 
Right after supporting The Special Event in Atlanta, GA in January, Active was called upon to give the same awesome production service to the Fabulous Showcase Event in February! This was the first joint venture of Event Solutions and Catersource. Active was part of a massive event team that took over 100,000 sq feet of raw space at the World Market Pavillion in Las Vegas and transformed it into a "sinful playground" of entertainment and networking. The Active crew worked around the clock to make sure the event went off without a hitch...who sleeps in Vegas anyway??

Active Production and Design was so proud to be a part of Atlanta's first annual Green Day Fest! We hope everyone came out to Underground Atlanta on April 27th from 11am-6pm and enjoyed the live bands, "Green" Exhibitors, food vendors, hybrid cars and the best part, (besides Active being a sponsor)...it was free!

On June 4th, beginning at noon, the sales team at Active Production and Design will host "Lighting 101". We invite all of you who want a little lighting refresher course, to come on on by for one of the 3 sessions held through out the day. We'll be giving various lighting demostrations and showing you, the event planners, managers and coordinators, what it takes to make that event shine!
