Welcome to the the latest IVRS newsletter.  This news letter is exclusive to the report program subscribers.  It includes updates, educational information and anything else that is important for you to know about the IVRS program.

The Latest and Greatest

Recently IADA has been working very closely with the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) to make sure we are fully aware of how we receive the vehicle data.  Because of working so closely with ITD, we have been able to identify areas of our program that can use some fine tuning.  Soon you will see some of these updates in the program.

We are going to be adding the ability for a subscriber to view any custom made reports up to six months prior.  Currently a subscriber can only view reports for the current month or previous month.  This feature will be added along with the ability to view reports by Date Sold or by Date Recorded.  Viewing a report by Date Sold will represent the truest to the sales in a specific month, but it can and will often change over time. For example if title paperwork is turned in late or if there is an issue with the paperwork that needs to be fixed before being processed, this report will reflect the changes no matter how long it takes before IADA receives the information.  Viewing a report by Date Recorded will represent how many titles were dropped off and time stamped at the county in a particular month.  Date Recorded is the date the paperwork is time stamped.  These reports after all the data for the month is fully uploaded (sometimes two to three weeks into the next month) will not change over time. There can only be a certain number of documents time stamped in a particular month.  The only lag time that there will be with these reports is the two to three weeks it may take IADA to receive the data.  There are times when paperwork is time stamped but not processed until the next week or later.  The choice will be up to the subscribers' discretion as to what he or she is looking for, perhaps a subsriber will even want to view both.

Another fine tuning update that is going to be changed soon is the date range that is displayed on the reports.  We have identified this to be confusing sometimes for subscribers to view a report that has a date in top left hand corner showing a full month, when this may not necessarily be true.  Currently the date shown is the day that the subscriber is viewing the report on a MTD report or if a subscriber is viewing previous month, it appears to be a full month.  IADA uploads new vehicle data every Wednesday morning and the information included is that which has been processed through the county DMV from the previous Friday.   This means that even though someone might be viewing a report that seems like an entire month's worth of data because the date says so, it may not be.  Especially if it the first of a month, the previous month is not going to be complete for about two weeks.  Because IADA uploads information weekly, it does take a week or two for IADA to capture and upload information for the previous month.  There is a lag time from when a sale is made to when IADA receives the title information about that sale from the state.  The date that will now be reflected on these reports will be through the Friday in which the county has last entered the information.  IADA will continue to examine this program and listen to all comments in order to make this a great market research tool for all subscribers.

How to View a By County By Make Report

It is very easy to build a By County By Make Report!  This report is going to show all the counties listed in Idaho down the left hand side and a bunch of popular makes across the top.  This will allow a subscriber to see what makes are sold in what counties MTD and YTD.  Also it will give totals of how many vehicles are sold in each county and how many of each make is sold statewide.

Step 1 - Once logged into the program, click "Create New Report" and chose from the list of 8, By County By Make and press continue.

Step 2 - Give your report a title.  Select the time period you would like to view, the vehicle type you would like to see and choose between new or used data.

Step 3 - Click save! Your screen should refresh and whatever you titled your report should be visible on your main page.  You can click view to see your report or click edit to set up your automatic emailing schedule.
