Recently Klay and his wife purchased a Hyde Low Profile drift boat for their son Jake's graduation gift. Klay has been purchasing boats yearly from Hyde for over 15 years for the Mangis Fishing Guide Service in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
I decided to meet Klay on the south fork of the Snake River and deliver the boat to his son Jake. We planned on fishing that day. We have a new Hyde Rock Mountain Skiff Boat we are making and we wanted to get Klay's expert advice on the boats performance and the fishing features inside the boat. We were a little dishearten to hear they had just raised the river from 10,000 CFS to over 14,000 CFS overnight. But we decided to go float anyway. To our surprise we started catching fish and it didn't stop till we hit the boat ramp at Conant Valley. Klay said the boat set very high on the water and even with the very high and fast water it handled great. I really enjoyed spending the day with Klay and Jake.
