 I RELEASE & I LET GO

One way you can begin to learn "I Release" written by Ricki Byars Beckwith, is by singing along on Sundays and watching the YouTube video from the link below.  These are the lyrics:

I release and I let go

I let the Spirit run my life

And my heart is open wide

Yes I'm only here for God

  No more struggle,

      no more strife

  With my faith

  I see the light

I am free in the Spirit

Yes I'm only here for God.

 OUR PURPOSE

This Center exists to support all people with the transformation of their lives.  We do this by teaching Spiritual Principle and by celebrating the Promise of Living.

Our philosophy, outlook and practice is based on the pioneering work of Dr. Ernest Holmes.  Our basic textbook is "The Science of Mind" by Dr. Holmes.

Our founding pastor was Dr. David J. Walker.  We honor his legacy by adhering to the essence of the Science of Mind teachings and by treating to know "that the innermost God and the highest God are one and the same."

The purpose of life is to

   strike a balance between

   acknowledging our
   completeness and
   enjoying our creativity.

What Inspires Me

John McLean picI had the great good fortune to spend a few days on Kaua'i at the end of May.  It's not that far away but the trip created a spaciousness in my consciousness that was most welcomed.  With a little "distance" it's easier to get perspective and to see things from that "higher point of view" Emerson speaks of.  It helped me to let go of small, everyday things and get back in touch with the big ideas, the big picture, the great notions that touch me deeply.  I am inspired all over again by the opportunities I have and by ideas that have resurfaced in my mind.

All of us are aware that Oprah (Winfrey, that is)  has now ceased production of her daily television show.  There are so many things she's done that have been a real inspiration to me.  On her last show, she shared lots of things she'd learned over the years, expressed a great deal of gratitude, and also urged viewers to get in touch with what really lights up their lives--what makes life juicy and meaningful.  If you didn't see her show, this link will take you to her website and let you view her comments.    What Oprah Knows For Sure

As the summer begins, do whatever you need to do to remember the ideas and impulses that make you want to live a larger, more creative, more loving and rewarding life.  Life called us out of the Infinite so that it might know more of it's own nature by means of our lives.  Consider your life as a Holy Calling and use this summer to clear away all that no longer serves that Calling.  There's something wonderful that's seeking expression through you.  Make a commitment to find out what it is and the way you can share it with the world.  It's the greatest thing you can do for yourself and for your world.  Give the Gift.

A Special Blessing

One spring morning many years ago, I was driving through the desert.  I happened to look off to the right of the road and saw a blanket of orange and yellow flowers that spread almost as far as my eye could see.  It seemed a miracle, a lavish gift of beauty outpouring from the unlimited source just for me!  Magnificent!  That day, as on many other days, flowers helped me remember how beautiful this world is.

So today, I call forth this blessing and give thanks for the flowers in our world - for the colors, the shapes, the fragrances, and for the messages of love, hope, support, sympathy and friendship they share.

poppies

Flowers enhance a room, adorn a garden or field, and brighten our emotions; their beauty and messages make us happy, and their fragrance fills our breath with soft, sweet warmth, causing us to breathe in deeply and to relax into the moment.

For the many ways that flowers grace our lives, we give thanks and allow ourselves to be open to them and to be open like them, sharing the unlimited beauty and bounty of God.   And together we say...And so it is.

Treatment for June

I AM PROPELLING CONSCIOUSNESS TO A NEW LEVEL

I honor the Life of Spirit that indwells me by expanding my consciousness to greater awareness.  This awareness creates a pathway for increased good in my life.  That good includes personal expansion in all ways -  to all things. Where there is health, there is more health and vitality than every before.  Where there are good relationships there is more - more appreciation, more kindness, more understanding, more support, more love and new associations with people whom I admire and respect. I am inspired. Where there is prosperity there is supreme abundance.  The lush universe is in motion finding open tributaries that express prosperity out into my personal world.  All that I have dreamed of and more moves through me and to me.  My business thrives, my creativity soars and my communication skills reach heights unimagined.  The bliss I feel is felt by all those who enter my world.  I know where to go, when to be there, what to say and how to respond.  My consciousness of fullness is met in Its entirety and it's all happening simply because I have chosen to honor the Life of Spirit that indwells me - the source, the One, the force in me. My openness to that force propels me higher than I have ever been.  It's expanding my mind, deepening my awareness, calling me on a journey that goes beyond that which I could have ever imagined.  I am now open and receptive to the greatness that's moving through me, ready to give form to Spirit in a new way.  It's a peaceful flow, right on track, right on time.   The tone is set, the music is playing, the rhythm is steady, the energy high.  I'm ready to give Spirit the ride of its Life. And so it is.

KATHY MARINAKOS

Volunteer of the Month for May 2011

Just 5 weeks ago, I was working at the book table after the Sunday Celebration and Kathy was there, showing me what to do and adding up sums I figured incorrectly!  She was at the table for years.  Then, suddenly, she was in the hospital and then she was gone.  I had the privilege of visiting with her three times during her short stay at Kaiser--each time treating with her that the fullness of life would be made manifest.  She made her transition and there was a lovely service at Holy Cross Cemetery just last week.  She had long been on our list to be recognized as Volunteer of the Month during May.  And so it is.  Kathy is one special person who served our community well.  And for that we love her and honor her.

            He who wants to do good knocks at the gate;
he who loves finds that gate open.

Rabindranath Tagore (Bengali: (7 May 1861 - 7 August 1941),sobriquet Gurudev, was a Bengali poet, novelist, musician, painter and playwright who reshaped Bengali literature and music. As author of Gitanjali and its "profoundly sensitive, fresh and beautiful verse" he was the first non-European who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913.  His poetry in translation was viewed as spiritual, and this together with his mesmerizing persona gave him a prophet-like aura in the west. His "elegant prose and magical poetry" still remain largely unknown outside the confines of Bengal.

Lessons of Truth

"Letting Go"

                                       Rev. Marian G. Moon

Many cling to old memory and behavior patterns that interfere with their peace of mind.  If we are reluctant in letting go of past hurts, misunderstandings and painful memories we live as though these were a part of who we are.  These memories and beliefs become the barnacles that build up in the subconscious.  We may know these interfere with our happiness yet not realize we can let them go.

Unless we understand that we are greater than our experiences we assume that these are part of our make up--something we cannot change.  This belief holds us in bondage to the past.

Dr. Raymond Charles Barker wrote:  "Old hurts and old rejections arrive at the threshold of consciousness in order to get out."  It is time to release them and move on.  If we would stop reviewing and rehearsing these we could do that and experience greater freedom.  This is an opportunity to see the experience for what it is -- one that is finished and over and then be willing to let it go.

We decide to continue in the old pattern or move on.  It no longer has power over us unless we give it a place in our consciousness.

Affirm:  I choose to let go of old memory patterns and live in the "now."

The Final Word

As once the winged energy of delight

carried you over childhood's dark abysses,

now beyond your own life build the great

arch of unimagined bridges.

Wonders happen if we can succeed

in passing through the harshest danger;

but only in a bright and purely granted

achievement can we realize the wonder.

To work with Things in the indescribable

relationship is not too hard for us;

the pattern grown more intricate and subtle

and being swept along is not enough.

Take your practiced powers and stretch them out

until they span the chasm between two

contradictions...For the god

wants to know himself in you.

Ranier Maria Rilke.  Translated by Stephen Mitchell.
