For Chanukah...

A candle is a small thing.
But one candle can light another.  And see how its own light increases, as a candle gives its flame to the other.  You are such a light!

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Declaration of Principle

We believe in God, the living Spirit Almighty -- One, Indestructible, Absolute, Self-Existent Cause.

We believe that the Kingdom of God is within and that we experience this Kingdom to the degree we become conscious of it.

We believe in the eternal Goodness, the eternal Loving Kindness, and the external Givingness of God to all.

PRACTITIONERS

Our licensed practitioners are honored to treat with you upon your request.   Please refer to our website www.lacrs.com, select the tab WHO WE ARE, and you'll find the ways to contact a practitioner for a treatment.  You can also contact a practitioner by calling the Center office and we will be happy to assist you.

 OUR PURPOSE

This Center exists to support all people with the transformation of their lives.  We do this by teaching Spiritual Principle and by celebrating the Promise of Living.

Our philosophy, outlook and practice is based on the pioneering work of Dr. Ernest Holmes.  Our basic textbook is "The Science of Mind" by Dr. Holmes.

Our founding pastor was Dr. David J. Walker.  We honor his legacy by adhering to the essence of the Science of Mind teachings and by treating to know "that the innermost God and the highest God are one and the same."

David Walker-2

The purpose of life is to strike a balance between acknowledging our completeness and enjoying our creativity.

What Inspires Me

Make sure you read The Last Word at the end of this newsletter.  It's a piece written by Dr. Howard Thurman.  If you don't know him, he was one of the Great Souls of the 20th century--someone who did a mighty work based on the Truth that the Presence indwells us all.

Not only am I inspired by his writings and example but also by so many others who bravely walk "the road less traveled."  That includes you!

As we come to the end of a year of great transition in the life of this ministry, I am moved by your example.  I am grateful for all the ways you seek to heal, prosper, and bless, not only yourselves, but also your friends, family, and the greater community.

That you actively participate in our Center tells me that you're up to the task of expanding your commitment to growth in personal awareness and spiritual under-standing.  Awesome!   Why not take advantage of the great energies that surround our holidays and focus on the good you want to demonstrate and share this year?

Please know that we support you in all your worthy ambitions and know you're more than able to realize themJust in case you'd forgotten--the Divine indwells you and exists for the sole purpose of bringing into manifestation your perfect world.

Richest Blessings for the Holidays and in the New Year!

All is Well, Life is Good, We are Truly Blessed,

...It was always said of him, that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge.  May that be truly us, all of us.  And so, as Tiny Tim observed, God Bless us, every one!

Reviews

Women of Spirit coordinated a group tour of the Museum of Tolerance on Sunday November 7th.  For the group that gathered there, it was a moving day and a call to mindfulness.  I am glad to have had the chance to share this experience with others--it was good to be in community.

On Thursday November 4th there was an informational meeting led by ICSL president Dr. Kenn Gordon and UCSL president Dr. Kathy Hearn and hosted by Spiritworks CSL in Burbank.  There was a great deal of discussion about the details of the upcoming integration of the two branches of Religious Science.  It was largely focussed on by-laws and the structure of the new organization.  The only thing I really want to share with you is that I specifically asked if CREATIVE THOUGHT magazine would remain in publication--the answer was an emphatic "YES".

Treatment for December

Clarity Equals Transformation

As we look into the Universe we see the Power of that which is greater than ourselves and yet we know the Truth of our being. We are not separate  from that Universal Power, but a unique individualized expression of all that we see, hear, feel, touch, taste, and more. The unity of all that is we call the One Mind of God, Divine Creative intelligence, Life. That is what moves through, in, around and as each one of us.   It is from this center that we move forward into the expression of our own experience of Life. By embracing the idea that we operate from our Divine Center, our mind experiences greater clarity. Every aspect of our lives is perceived through a clearer lens. Recognizing our Divinity recognizes our unity with all that is. Every idea has its foundation in Divine Intelligence. It is from Divine Intelligence, the Spirit of our core, that we are able to take our thoughts and move them forward with the clarity that transforms our experience. Confusion and fear have no power in the One Mind of God, therefore confusion and fear have no power within us.  This Truth of our being supports the integrity of our word, and we see our lives transformed with limitless possibilities. As we release these words to the Law of Mind we express great gratitude and thanksgiving for what we know as the absolute Truth for ourselves and all Life.  And so it is.             Rebekah Kemmerer R.Sc.P

Lessons Of Truth

Using the Creative Process

by Rev. Marian G. Moon

It is possible to demonstrate what you want in life.  There is a process that never fails to bring results.  It is simple.  It is dependable.  Yet if we fail to apply this principle we don't realize the result we want.  However, whenever we do apply it, it never fails to give us results.

Any idea we give our attention to will eventually manifest as our experience.  We don't have to believe this in order to prove it because it involves a universal Law of Mind that is infallible.

A quote from Raymond Charles Barker gives us insight into the creative process.  He said, "Everything begins as an idea in the Mind, moves through the process of consciousness, enters into a law of action and  completes itself in a tangible form known as demonstration."

We may not be aware of this process, yet it is part of every end result we experience.

We can learn to apply this principle and activate this law for our purpose.   We develop consciousness by being consistent regarding our desires.  It is a matter of focusing thought attention for the results we want and allowing them to appear.

Causation begins in our minds.  We begin with an idea as Dr. Barker states.  Then we keep our attention directed for the end results we want.  Mind follows our mental attention.  It causes the Law to respond.  It is not difficult to demonstrate when we put this principle to practice.

This law is no respecter of persons.  It works for everyone.  If this idea is new to you, give it some thought.  Begin to apply it to your personal desire and prove it for yourself.

The Final Word

Blessings At Year's End

I remember with gratitude the fruits of the labors of others, which I have shared as a part of the normal experience of daily living.

I remember the beautiful things that I have seen, heard, and felt-some, as a result of definite seeking on my part, and many that came unheralded into my path, warming my heart and rejoicing my spirit.

I remember the new people I have met, from whom I have caught glimpses of the meaning of my own life and the true character of human dignity.

I remember the dreams that haunted me during the year, keeping me ever mindful of goals and hopes which I did not realize, but from which I drew inspiration to sustain my life and keep steady my purposes.

I remember the awareness of the spirit of God that sought me out in my aloneness and gave to me a sense of assurance that undercut my despair and confirmed my life with new courage and abiding hope.
