Daily Prayer Day 25

Pray

Heavenly Father, I come to You now to renew my place in You. I acknowledge that You are the Creator of all things and the Provider of all I need. You are the Great I AM. The First and the Last, the King of kings and Lord of lords. You alone are life. No one comes before You, and today, I will pursue life in You as my greatest passion.

Father, thank You for ransoming me with the life of Your Son. Jesus, thank You for being my substitute and paying for all of my sins. I believe in Your resurrection, and it is through my faith in You that I can now approach my Heavenly Father with freedom and confidence. I claim the power of Your resurrection in my life and I now bring every aspect of my life, including my family [name your spouse and/or children] and my work under Your authority and Your Kingdom.

In You, Jesus, I have received a new life and have been raised to walk in the newness of that life. I ask that Your Holy Spirit search me, know me and reveal to me any aspect of my life that is not pleasing to You. Show me the things in my life that prevent me from knowing Your will, and give me the strength to repent. Holy Spirit, I also ask you to awaken my heart to everything You want to do through me and the steps You want me to take for You. Jesus, I believe You have new things to declare for my life and I ask in Your name that You make them known to me.

Jesus, I also ask You to reveal to me in every way possible those in my current relationships for whom I should intercede in prayer and reach out to in Your name. I pray today for opportunities to be Your light in their life so they will grow in the knowledge of You.

Father, I pray for all of the leaders at Stonecreek Church who join with me for this time of prayer. Search us, break us and unify us as men and women of the one true living God so new things can be accomplished for Your Kingdom in our homes, our community and around the world.

Holy Spirit, fill Your church with the strength and endurance to bring spiritual revolution in these times. Stir our hearts to pray as never before and to have discernment and a boldness to share the life we have in Jesus.

Now, Father, I pray for 10/10/10 and every new thing You will bring about in me, my community and our church. You are able to do immeasurably more than all I can ever ask or imagine. To You be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever!

Amen.

Reflect | Unify Us

...unify us as men and women of the one true living God so new things can be accomplished for your Kingdom in our homes, our community and around the world.

It's Saturday, in the fall, in the south. Time for some college football.

Today, teams across the country will battle it out on the gridiron. Some will play poorly. Others will play well. And every so often there will be one or two teams who play like they can do no wrong. When a team is this unified, it is a thing of beauty. They play together consistently with each individual position knowing the exact role he has to play. They make the other team look like they forgot how to play.

Jesus prayed for this kind of unity among His disciples and for those who would follow after the disciples (John 17:20-23.) He knew they would need to be unified in what they believed in order to bring glory to God.

Paul also addressed this level of unity in Ephesians 4:11-13 when he said, "It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." Later Paul writes "as each part does its work." We were not designed to walk alone or to serve alone, but to use the talents God has given us for the benefit of others. Ultimately the body of Christ becomes mature, looking increasingly more like Christ.

Just imagine what we can accomplish for God's Kingdom in our homes, our community and around the world when we join together in our gifts, resources and faith towards one purpose.

On Monday morning, September 27, 21 adults from Stonecreek Church will travel to Zone 18 of Guatemala City for their first mission trip, ever. The team does not know yet how God will use them. But they can be confident He has equipped each of them in a unique way and as a team to bring glory to Him among those Hope for Guatemala serves.

What about you? What skills and abilities is God asking you to put to use for His Kingdom? What is your next step?

While you may not be called to serve His kingdoms half a world away, you may be called to be a servant in your own neighborhood.  God may be asking you to use your "fix-it" skills to help a neighbor. You may know of a shut-in who would love a home-cooked meal and a little conversation. You may have the gift of leading or mentoring that can shape the futures of our children or student ministries. Your discernment may bring unity back into your family, your marriage or other key relationships.

What is your part?

Begin to pray specifically, "God what have you given me and what part do you have for me?" Let God speak. Pray also for others who are responding to these same words today. Then, let us celebrate together on 10/10/10 as we come together as one team to declare our next steps.
