Pray
Heavenly Father, I come to You now to renew my place in
You. I acknowledge that You are the Creator of all things and the Provider of all I
need. You are the Great I AM. The First and the Last, the King of kings and
Lord of lords. You alone are life. No one comes before You, and today, I will
pursue life in You as my greatest passion.
Father, thank You for ransoming me with the life of Your
Son. Jesus, thank You for being my substitute and paying for all of my sins. I
believe in Your resurrection, and it is through my faith in You that I can now
approach my Heavenly Father with freedom and confidence. I claim the power of
Your resurrection in my life and I now bring every aspect of my life, including
my family [name your spouse and/or children] and my work under Your authority
and Your Kingdom.
In You, Jesus, I have received a new life and have been
raised to walk in the newness of that life. I ask that Your Holy Spirit search
me, know me and reveal to me any aspect of my life that is not pleasing to You.
Show me the things in my life that prevent me from knowing Your will, and give
me the strength to repent. Holy Spirit, I also ask you to awaken my heart to
everything You want to do through me and the steps You want me to take for You.
Jesus, I believe You have new things to declare for my life and I ask in Your
name that You make them known to me.
Jesus, I
also ask You to reveal to me in every way possible those in my current
relationships for whom I should intercede in prayer and reach out to in Your
name. I pray today for opportunities to be Your light in their life so they
will grow in the knowledge of You.
Father,
I pray for all of the leaders at Stonecreek Church who join with me for this
time of prayer. Search us, break us and unify us as men and women of the one
true living God so new things can be accomplished for Your Kingdom in our
homes, our community and around the world.
Holy
Spirit, fill Your church with the strength and endurance to bring spiritual
revolution in these times. Stir our hearts to pray as never before and to have
discernment and a boldness to share the life we have in Jesus. Now,
Father, I pray for 10/10/10 and every new thing You will bring about in me, my
community and our church. You are able to do immeasurably more than all I
can ever ask or imagine. To You be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus
throughout all generations, forever and ever!
Amen.
Reflect | The Great I AM
You are the Great I AM.
The Great I AM (
Exodus 3:14). The name of God in the most basic form.
At first it may seem simplistic to refer to God simply as I AM. But when you consider that God always has been and
always will be, I AM should begin to take on more dimension than our human brains can comprehend. God is not
constrained by time or space. He is, and was and
is to come. I AM
explains God's proper name, Jehovah. The name Jehovah signifies that God is self-existent, eternal, and unchanging. He is also faithful and true to His
promises. The name I AM also speaks of who God is to us. When we ask God, "Who are You?"
and He answers, "I AM", He is saying, I AM...period. I AM all you will ever need. I AM and there is nothing else. Nothing.
But God doesn't stop with the reality of who He is, God desires a relationship. Jesus solidifies the relational aspect of I AM in the Gospel of John with seven "I AM" statements
of His own.
Jesus states, I AM...
- The Bread of Life (John 6:35) - Giver and sustainer of
life (physical and spiritual).
- The Light of the world (John 8:12; 9:5) - He dispels
the darkness of sin.
- The Door or The Gate (John 10:7,9) - Our protection
from our enemies and the passage way for communication.
- The Good Shepherd (John 10:11, 14) - He knows us and we
know Him. He is our Provider and Protector.
- The Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25-26) - The
Source of Eternal Life.
- The Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6) - The Way
to the Father, the Truth and fulfillment of prophecy and the Life everlasting.
- The Vine (John 15:1,5) - Our Source and connection to
God (the Gardener). Apart from Him we are not alive.
Jesus claims call out the New Covenant between I
AM and His people. In each of these statements Jesus shows you how He alone
has the power to give eternal life and restore the broken relationship sin created between God and humanity. Through Jesus, we are free to approach, encounter, speak to and hear from the I AM for all of our needs.

Read back through the I AM claims Jesus makes.
Which statement(s) resonate with you the most, especially as you pray for God to help you make the transition from former things to new things in your life?
Take a moment and ask Jesus to be that I AM for you today.
