We are saying goodbye to 2010 today.  The end of the year makes us feel nostalgic and inspires us to think of the various lessons we have learned in life.  I am going to share some invaluable lessons imparted by my Guru, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj.

• You cannot please even one person all the time.
• Work on becoming good rather than appearing good in the eyes of the world.
• The only misfortune you suffer from is that you think yourself to be unfortunate.
• The untrained mind is your worst enemy, and a disciplined mind is your best friend.
• Create your destiny rather than trying to know your destiny.
• When youth leaves it never returns. When old age arrives, it never leaves.
• God lives in the heart of every living being.  Do not harm others through words, deeds or thoughts.
• Pride is a sneaky thief that will snatch away all the devotion you have practiced.
• Donate generously, for it is your birthright to do so.
