Proceed with caution

There was a heartbreaking story recently in the news about a four-day old baby having being killed by the family pit bull.  By just looking at the photo of the dog one can easily see that it would not be safe to leave a baby alone with it.  The question arises, "Why did the baby's parents not see this?"   Incredible as it may sound, it did not occur to them that their pit bull could ever become violent.  They trusted the dog completely.

Believing their neighbourhood to be a good one many people surprisingly leave the front door of the house open.  When theft, kidnapping or murder takes place in the same neighbourhood, all the residents are invariably shocked.  It is because they trusted that criminal activity could never take place in their 'safe' neighbourhood.

You may ask, "What about the philosophy that God dwells within everyone?"  Yes, God is within the heart of every creature.  However, keep in mind also that humans are given great intelligence, using which we are capable of realizing God within or ignoring Him completely.  We are capable of doing the greatest good as well as committing the vilest crime.

There are many devious people living in the world who leave no stone unturned in deceiving others.  The surprising fact is that there are many who still fall prey to their deception, sending away money and actually investing emotions in the crooks who run elaborate scams.

Proceed with caution in the world.

Didi Ji
