Manage your thoughtsOur mind is like a factory which is constantly in production. Hundreds of thoughts are produced by this factory in one single day. Some are good and useful thoughts. Some are absolutely useless. Some are dangerous thoughts that contaminate the mind. We can either allow our thoughts to control us, or we can learn how to gain control over them.
If your clothes were to catch on fire during cooking, would you not extinguish the flame immediately? If you see a spider crawling up your arm, would you just keep on sitting without doing anything about it? No! You would take immediate steps. Likewise, you must chase out the unwanted thoughts without delay. When an undesirable thought enters the mind, do not tolerate it for even a second. Be very adamant. Refuse it permission to linger. After all, you would not allow an intruder to sit in your living room.
To rid yourself of an unwanted thought, you must replace it with a good and positive thought. This has to be done without half a moment's delay and it must be done every single time. Be at least as picky and choosy with your thoughts as you are while selecting vegetables and fruits at the grocery store. Select only the best thoughts and welcome them into your mind.
The practice of accepting only the good thoughts and discarding the bad ones will lead to a beautiful mind. And this is what we all want in the first place.
Yours, Didi Ji
