Let's be nice to each other

It was the first day of school for the eight year old girl.  When she came home, the first question her mother asked was, "How was school?"  With great enthusiasm, the little girl replied, "I had a great day at school.  My new teacher is really nice.  She compliments everybody and tells us all the things we are doing well in class."

A few days later mother and daughter were having a conversation about school again.  The child remarked, "Mom, even though this is not the first week of school anymore, my teacher is still saying really nice things about all of us.  She always compliments us on things that we do right.  She's great!"

Even an eight year old child had experienced that people are nice to each other when they first meet, but stop being nice after a few days of continued interaction.  At the same time, even an eight-year old child found the "niceties" from her teacher refreshing and motivating.  Her attitude towards school, her teacher, her peers and her family members changed!

Each and every action of ours creates a lasting impression on young minds.  Let's resolve to be nice to each other, not only from the outside, but more importantly on the inside.  In doing so we become better ourselves and teach little children along the way.

Yours,
Didi Ji
