Be reminded of God
You get up
in the morning and busy yourself with various demands that life has placed in
your path. Before you know it, the
day has come to an end when a disturbing thought hits you: "I didn't think about
God at all today." You ask
yourself, "What can I do to remind myself of God?" For anyone who has ever asked, here are
my suggestions.
Train your mind
to think about God throughout the day by visualizing a personal aspect of God
- for example, Lord Krishna - as being with you in your work place or at
home. Next, form the habit of
looking at Him for a split second after every hour. The purpose is to train the mind to
think of God many times a day for just a moment. When you visualize Him, imagine Him
laughing or talking or smiling.
After another hour passes, look at Him again. Do this all day long. It will take some time, and in the
beginning you will certainly forget.
However, steady practice will yield wonderful
results.
Besides doing
this, schedule some time for just you and your Creator. It takes some time to nurture a
relationship, and a relationship with God is no different. Rather than just saying 'goodbye' to God
when you leave the house and 'hello' upon your return, spend some time with
Him. Early morning is the best,
since you are not busy with anything else at that time. In the early morning hours, there are
pure vibrations in the atmosphere which will be extremely helpful in reminding
you of God.
Then go ahead
and face the day with a smile on your face and joy in your
heart.
Yours,
Didi Ji |
