     Finding strength through solitude...

"...we must simplify our lives or lose untold treasures on earth and in eternity.
Modern culture is so complex as to make the devotional life all but impossible.
The need to find solitude and
quietness
was never greater than it is today."
[AW Tozer]

Solitude with God..

...creates a pause that re-aligns your values with God's.

...unclutters your faith and refreshes your peace.
...frees you from the forceful currents of the world and magnetizes your soul to eternity.
...gently ushers you closer to God -- which is exactly where He wants us to be.

"The Lord confides in those who fear Him; he makes his covenent known to them."

- Psalms 25:14

"Look to The Lord and His STRENGTH;

seek His face always."

 1 Chronicles 16:11

"Humility is not generated within us by recognizing that other are better than us; it is the gracious result of responding to the humble work and Word of God.

The humility of our character is formed by having our minds set on the work that God has done."

- B. Towes

So glad you have joined us for the climb...
the climb scripture3
This year we are focused, fortified, and fervently pursuing God through the study of His Word.

We are building the strength of our spiritual core.

We are digging deep into God's Word for wisdom, truth and direction for the circumstances we face every day.

Join us for Bible study that will equip you for the climb of life.

Share in small groups that will help hold you accountable and bring friendships and encouragement.

"One key to a deep friendship is time spent in long conversations.

As the gospels show, this is the type of relationship Jesus had with his friends, the disciples. Jesus said, "I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you."  John 15:15.

At the heart of such friendship is the communication of Truth.

"Wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul."  Proverbs 2:10

Groups

this Year

This year's Women's Bible Study has small groups we want to be sure you don't miss...

Young Moms:

offered on Thursday mornings, this group is designed to be a place of rest for moms with children age 5 and under.  One group will study the Faith (Great Authors Beth Moore/Kay Arthur/Priscilla Shirer) study; one group will study the Marriage Series.

Single MOMS:

offered on Tuesday evenings (except the last Tuesday of each month) this will be a place of connection, confidence and care for women who are in the season of single and parenting. The group is led by women who have been single moms. Elementary childcare provided at no charge; Jr. High Youth (Ground Zero) meets also at the same time for students 6th-8th grades.

Senior Ladies: offered on Thursday mornings, this is an affinity group for some of our senior women who desire the companionship during this season in life...this year this group is studying FAITH with the authors Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer and Kay Arthur.

Soul Purpose:

this is not really new this year, but a reminder of a different type of small group (offered all three days of study)!  Soul purpose groups are smaller groups whose members commit to sharing the leadership of the group (rotate facilitating and leading week to week).  Soul Purpose keeps you accountable with homework, attendance and participation. Perhaps this year is time for you to step into soul purpose!

Sharing Blessings - Encouragement - Mentoring - Care

One of the best things about the Body of Christ is the care and encouragement God's people share.

There are almost 40 Scriptures sharing how we are to care for one another.

The spoken word is powerful.

Consider the life giving words you share --  every day you can have a purposeful impact on another life simply through words of encouragement.

God has designed up to come along side one another in both words and deeds. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 tells us that "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work; if one falls down, [her] friend can help [her] up...". Titus 2:3-5 gives clarity to this by way of instruction, "Let the older women teach the younger women to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God."

Ask God today to put someone in your life who you can encourage . . .

pray for purposeful efforts to significantly bless the life of another woman, coming along side one another to strengthen and encourage through prayer, the Word and loving actions.

Make a commitment to ask a godly woman to be in your life for accountability. . .

ask boldly for accountability, to strengthen the areas in your life that need a firmer foundation... keep your heart open for God, and be willing to make the hard work of strengthening your spiritual core.

Be Available - being ready with wisdom from God's word can make all the different for a woman who is struggling. Often a phone call with a word of encouragment is all that's needed to lift her spirit.

Be Purposeful - Whether it's help with parenting skills, prayer for her marriage, or the desire to understand how to walk more closely with God, focus on her need.

Be Creative - Spending time together can be over coffee or taking a walk and praying together. Finding ways to share in life's activities will give depth and delight to the mentor relationship.
