We have started our walk together ... We gathered for a new year of Bible study together this week -- making a commitment to Walk in Truth ... to be women walking in The Word. WALK The walk implies action - it is a verb, it is not static. In God's Word the metaphor for 'walk' and 'walking' gives us a word picture of two tandom concepts... the walk implies an agreement, a relationship, a coming alongside of - it is not solitary. Our walk with God not only is His desire for personal relationship but in the journey he gives a gift of friendship, accountability and encouragement from others He has put in our lives. We do not walk alone. The walk also implies a direction, a destination. Scripture gives over 50 commands in the New Testament alone about the way we are to walk, to order our lives, to go about. One step at a time, in a direction, toward a destination. Step by step. In the chaos of our busy lives we are in great need of truth and wisdom. We are desperate for the walk of purpose and truth. And so we put away our summer sandals and pull out our hiking boots to walk in a new season together. It's never too late to join us on the walk. Remember, you are not alone... and you have a destination. It doesn't matter what shoes you are wearing... as long as you are walking in Truth. Come along, and walk with us!

Women Walking in Friendship
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, [her] friend can help her up... a cord of three strands is not quickly broken." - Eccl 4:9-10, 12

Friends are among life's
greatest treasures. In the presence of close friends, we laugh about what drove
us crazy just minutes before. We cry without shame, knowing we will be
understood.
To be a friend and to have
friends is one of the greatest blessings of life. Friendship is complex and has
many facets, but it certainly exhibits the following five attributes: Friendship means
understanding and being understood... Friendship means affirming and being
affirmed... Friendship means accepting and being accepted... Friendship means
helping and being helped... Friendship means forgiving and being forgiven.
[David Claasen]
God's Word challenges us & encourages us in our friendships. We can be a friend to others to extend God's love and help care for one another. Look for ways to encourage someone in your circle of influence, in your neighborhood, in your family, in your small group. Share friendship - share joy.

Women Walking in Service
This summer God gave me a very clear vision...
of our entry doors with women walking in as a crowd ... but I only saw the legs, feet, arms and hands of these
women.
As I prayed about God's direction for us this year, one thought
kept lingering in my heart and mind -- we have a beautiful gathering of women,
energetic, gifted, talented, and committed to the study of God's Word -- women
gooted in The Word... what now?
As we prayed
and prepared this summer, we continued to receive confirmation of a vision of
the women who are rooted in The Word
touching our community in a real, hands on, vibrant way... sharing what we are
learning from God in tangible efforts of outreach to our
community.
For two weeks in
December we will share "Christmas From
the Heart" -- this year, instead of inviting others in for a
beautiful holiday celebration, we are taking our
celebration to our community in service. We are very excited about how
God will use this special time. During these days there will be service projects that we will be doing all over Chester County.
Our desire is that this will be a rich time of
personal connection with those you may serve with, and meaningful work of our
hands in touching our community. ALL are welcome to serve with us... come, and walk with us!

According to Websters, A pun, or paronomasia, is a form of word play that

Autumn
 As autumn returns
and day and night are briefly,
but perfectly,
May we make wise choices in how
and what we harvest,
May the diminishing light in our daytime skies
be met by an increasing compassion in our hearts."

Spirit to Spirit
Walking in the Spirit
encouragement by Linda Slavin
"Never
be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord." - Romans 12:11 (NIV)
Maintaining our spirit life is a part of walking in
God's path. The more we are filled to
overflow the easier it is to fulfill God's call on our lives. There will become
an ever-increasing earnest endeavor to yield to his abiding Holy Spirit, to
obey His word and to walk in His will.
But if you are saying in your heart; "I've lost that
passion. I can never be that women. I'm running to and fro, I'm encumbered
about with so many cares. I don't know which way to turn. My time seems to get
away from me and I don't have time for my Bible, no time for consecrated
prayer, there is just too many cares."
Stop, take a moment of quiet, and pray. Ask God for His passion. Pray for His Spirit and His presence.
Exposing our lives to the life of the Spirit will strengthen
us and keep us walking in step with God.
Let us be fervent in spirit, maintaining the glow of the Holy
Spirit having our spirits aglow, which is the will of God. "Don't burn
out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master,
cheerfully expectant. Don't quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy
Christians; be inventive in hospitality."- Romans 12:11
"Since we live by
the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit." - Galatians 5:25 (NIV)
