Tomorrow we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the
Child that the prophets had written about hundreds of
years earlier.
This was the proof that God loved us, "He sent His
one and only Son into
the world that we might live through Him. This is love:
not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent
His Son for us." (1 John 4:9-10).
This
was God's gift to each of us.
We've spent
this
season readying for Christmas day, wrapping,
celebrating and exchanging gifts. Are you ready to
exchange the most important gift?
Have you exchanged gifts with Jesus?
Your gifts are already wrapped and waiting for you,
You can bring your disappointment and exchange it
for
hope.
You can bring your sorrows and exchange
them for joy.
You can bring your frustration and
exchange it for grace
You can bring your inadequacy and exchange it for
power.
You can bring your impatience and exchange it for
forbearance.
You can bring your pride and exchange it for humility.
You can bring your anger and exchange it for
understanding.
You can bring your jealousy and exchange it for
admiration.
You can bring your weakness and exchange it for
strength.
You can bring your fears and exchange them for
peace.
These priceless gifts await each and every one of us --
-- unearned and undeserved. In order to receive them,
there are two things you must bring to Him.
You
must bring your broken broken heart, your guilt and sin
and exchange them for forgiveness, and you
must bring your ambition and exchange it for God's
will for your life.
Don't leave His gifts unopened
under the tree.
Our prayer this
Christmas is
that all of His gifts will be claimed and opened.
"For unto us a child is born to us a son is given.
And the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called,
Wonderful Counselor
Mighty God
Everlasting Father
Prince of Peace."
- Isaiah 9:6
