GRATITUDE.
s o u l r i c h
Yale theologian Miroslav Volf says that there are two kinds of richness in life: "richness of having" and "richness of being." We seek richness of having, but what we really want is richness of being. We want to be grateful, joyful, content, free from anxiety, and generous. We scramble after richness of having because we think it will produce richness of being, but it does not.

We can have very little and yet be rich. A rich soul experiences life differently. It experiences a sense of gratitude for what it has received, rather than resentment for what it hasn't gotten. It faces the future with hope rather than anxiety. The apostle Paul discovered that when he was living as a friend and companion of Jesus, who "...though he was rich, yet for [our] sakes he became poor, so that [we] through his poverty might become rich. " - 2 Corinthians 2:8-9
This season of Thanksgiving, let's seek soul rich foods of gratitude, joy and generousity. |

RESTORATION...
The Story of A Doll
a reflection of Sue DiBussolo, one of our leaders, teachers and dear friend who went home to be with her Savior on October 12, 2007.
The story is of precious antique dolls, broken and soiled, lovingly restored and made whole by repairs, care and restoration. Our special doll was Sue DiBussolo, who lived a life of hope and shared the story of her spiritual restoration through her faith in Jesus Christ. More...

It is the VERY WORDS OF GOD...
Why Memorize Scripture?
"I know of no other single practice in the Christian life more rewarding, practically speaking, than memorizing Scripture. . . . No other single exercise pays greater spiritual dividends! Your prayer life will be strengthened. Your understanding will be sharper and much more effective. Your attitudes and outlook will begin to change. Your mind will become alert and observant. Your confidence and assurance will be enhanced. Your faith will be solidified" [Chuck Swindoll]
Write it out... the movement of your hand shaping the words and seeing the sentences as they form all work together to saturate the Scripture in your mind.
Find a rhythm... recite the words over several times, if a natural cadence to the lines emerges, emphasize it.
Listen up... you can find The Bible on tape/CD - play one chapter or book every day for a week and you'll be amazed at how much you learn!
Mirror, Mirror... tape the verse to your mirror -- or your computer screen, refrigerator, wherever you are. This gentle reminder is effective.
The more the merrier... ask a friend or loved one to help you be accountable. Bless your partner by being creative in your encouragement
"If you continue in My Word, then you are my disciples indeed."- John 8:31 | |

Wisdom: Gratitude
"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." ~ Melody Beattie
