Glitz, Glam & All That Jazz!

September - 2011

Greetings!

I hope this early fall day finds you well. It's been an eventful and busy summer and now I'm happy to look towards cooler days, holiday festivities and reuniting with friends.

To start off the festivities, I hope you'll join me for "Glitz, Glam & All That Jazz!" This will be my first show with Belsito-Roche' Gallery. The lovely Ms Talaya Trigueros will share the show, offering her gorgeous hand crafted art jewelry. Join us for lots of art, jewelry, live music, snacks & spirits, and especially a fun, friend-filled evening!

If you are a "Smooth Jazz" fan, you may already know about the plight of Jeff Golub, jazz guitarist and an amazing man. He recently and quite suddenly lost his sight. His jazz friends, fans and family have come together to raise funds for experimental treatment which may restore his vision. Please check out the on-line auction (information is below) for some wonderful offerings and help Jeff in the process.

I hope to have the chance to catch up with you soon.

With warmest regards,

Bettie Grace Miner

The Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards
Sade with CSJA

The third consecutive, and likely final, Canadian Smooth Jazz Award art piece, created by Bettie Grace Miner was presented to the recipients of this years awards, including Sade, on April 29, 2011 by The Wave 94.7.

After more than eleven years of delivering Smooth Jazz to avid fans in Southern Ontario, Canada, and creating the Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards, the station flipped to Country music on August 1, 2011.

The Wave can now be found online at Wave.fm and when the time is right, I know they'll be back! After seamlessly moving the station to the internet airwaves Doug and Mary Kirk said: "The next step of our plan involves restoring the Wave to an appropriate FM band in the GTA. This would involve a very competitive application to the CRTC and would need the full participation of all our SJ fans when the time comes. We are heartened by the many offers of support from you as we embark on the next phase."

"Working with The Wave 94.7 and The Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards, and especially Mary & Doug Kirk, has been a thrill and an honor for me. I will hold the memories of the people and music dear to my heart always."  Bettie Grace Miner

An insightful and intimate interview with Bettie Grace Miner

"There's no ignoring her work when you walk into a room, the colors seem to create an energy around the people she paints, capturing their movement, their personality and spirit."
