2011 Canadian Smoothies

April - 2011

Greetings!

I hope this note finds you well and enjoying Spring, music and art!

In just a few days I'll be joining some of the greatest stars of Contemporary Jazz in Toronto for the 2011 Canadian Smoothies (The New Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards). I am honored to be a part of this wonderful event by creating the art award that will be presented to the recipients of The Canadian Smoothies.  If you'll be attending - I'll see you there!

As spring gives way to summer, it's almost time for the annual KSBR Birthday BASH in Mission Viejo, California - Memorial Day Weekend. It's the best jam session around.  I'll be there and hope to see you, too.

In addition to (my favorite) music inspired artwork, there is an entire collection of Decor flavored artwork on the horizon.  Some is already showcased on the website, but more will be revealed soon. I'd love to get your feedback - let me know what you think about colors, subject matter or anything else on your mind.  And if you refer any interior designers to me, I have an art print with your name on it!

I'm looking forward to catching up with you soon.

With warmest regards,

Bettie Grace Miner

Old School Jam

"Old School Jam"

For the third consecutive year, Bettie Grace Miner has created the official award and event art for the Canadian Smoothies (The New Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards). The award

will be presented to the recipients of this years awards at

The Mississauga Living Arts Centre on

April 29, 2011.

About the art: The art was created to celebrate the heart of original music and the musicians who create it. "Old School Jam" is a a tribute to hit records, live performance and the passion of artists. If you look closely, you'll actually find a vinyl record (yes, that's the stuff music was originally recorded on).

The Canadian Smoothies Awards is hosting performances by:

2011 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Larry Carlton,
with Mindi Abair * Paul Brown * Michael Dunston
Leyland Gordon * Gabriel Mark Hasselbach
Warren Hill * Dave Koz * Lisa McClowry * Jim Peterik
Steve Oliver * Alexander Zonjic

The Smooth Jazz Weekend continues with The Wave SuperSaturday Show on Sat, April 30 at The Old Mill Inn with performances by Steve Oliver and Alexander Zonjic,

& special guests.
