Greetings from sunny Southern California, or SoCal as we like to say. This is just a note to catch up and let you know about some new art pieces, and share some of news about what's going on!
We are again heading "26 miles..." to Catalina Island for the third and final weekend of the Catalina Island JazzTrax Festival. The last two weekends have been incredible. So much great music, catching up with old friends and making new ones. Lots of folks have been dropping by to say hello and check out the new music inspired art on exhibit at The Casino. Maybe you'll be dropping by this weekend? If you're not, I hope to see you sometime soon.

Jazz Art Show on Catalina Island ~ UPDATE

"Via Casino Jazz"
Bettie Grace Miner is back on Catalina Island for the 23rd Annual Catalina Island JazzTrax Festival October 16-18, 2009.
It's the last weekend of the festival and it's been a blast hanging with so many wonderful music fans, musicians and the beautiful island of Santa Catalina.
"Via Casino Jazz" ~ the latest fine art celebration to be added to Bettie Grace Miner's collection honoring this legendary festival has been knocking people out! Even "the locals" love it! If you're attending the festival, stop by and check out the canvas on exhibit. See if you can find all the hidden treasures in the piece.
The art giclee (which is not the official event poster) is a very limited, signed and numbered, edition on fine art paper 18"x24" for $95.00 and on canvas 23"x30" gallery-wrap framing for $1475.00. The edition is limited to 50 prints in total and each is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Live from the 23rd Annual Catalina Island JazzTrax Festival! Listen in with KSBR as Gary Bergeson brings you the music and interviews the jazz stars live from JazzTrax on Catalina Island.
Tune in on Saturday, October 17, 2009 between 11:00 and 11:30 AM for a live interview with Bettie Grace Miner. Gary and Bettie now have a tradition of sharing the festival and lots of fun stories with fans each year during the JazzTrax festival. You can live stream Jazz FM 88.5 on your computer if you're not able to pick up the station locally.

You just never know who you might meet while checking out the jazz art exhibit at Catalina Island JazzTrax Festival! Some of Bettie's favorite artists (and art) are familiar faces - do you know who they are? The Miner Works of Art exhibit is tucked away on the mezzanine level of The Casino on Catalina Island, but look who explored until he found Bettie ... Chris Standring! A friend and amazing guitarist, Chris gave Bettie a big hug and whispered in her ear "When are you going to do a cool piece like that of me?" Well, watch for it, because the wonderful new show Chris has put together with a string section inspired Bettie to do a whole new series of pieces featuring Chris and his new company of musicians.
"Love & Paragraphs" ~ Chris Standring's latest CD has garnered Art Good's JazzTrax best song of 2008. More news to come on this new collection.

Rhythm & Blues Anyone?

Rhythm & Blues, like Jazz, is colorful, hot and gives you a big kick just when you need it. A new series of vibrant instrumental imagery by Bettie Grace Miner is now debuting and ready to rock and roll!
The Rhythm & Blues collection features pieces that are all the same size and available from 30"x18"x2" (gallery-wrapped framing) and up to large mural sized pieces. The limited edition giclees are signed and numbered, and hand-embellished by the artist.
