Greetings!
Greetings and happy autumn. The art world is jumping lately, no matter what "they" say and I'm loving it! Maybe it's the change of seasons but I've been inspired to create a lot of new art and I'd love to share it with you. Do you like wine? Well, there's a whole new series of wine art pieces. How about music? Got that, too! Speaking of music ... The Catalina Island JazzTrax Festival starts tomorrow. I'll be there all three weekends and if you will be attending, please drop by my art show and say hello.
Warmest regards,
Bettie Grace Miner

Jazz Art Show on Catalina Island

"Via Casino Jazz"
Bettie Grace Miner is heading back to the Island with JazzTrax for the Catalina Island JazzTrax Festival October 2-4, October 9-11, and October 16-18, 2009. You'll find Bettie's art exhibit in the Casino ... just stroll up the boardwalk towards the Casino and follow the sounds of the music! Some of the finest musicians in Contemporary Jazz will be there. Combine the music with the wonderful Catalina Island weather and hospitality and you've got a great time! "Via Casino Jazz" is the latest fine art celebration to be added to Bettie Grace Miner's collection honoring this legendary festival. As always, Bettie has included some surprises in the art. As one example, see if you can find Art Good, promoter and grand master of ceremonies. Landmarks from Avalon, musical inspiration, the Casino and of course the Lady (Mermaid) who welcomes all to the Casino are colorfully featured. The art giclee (which is not the official event poster) is a very limited, signed and numbered, edition on fine art paper 18"x24" for $95.00 and on canvas 23"x30" gallery-wrap framing for $1475.00. The edition is limited to 50 prints in total and each is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. "Via Casino Jazz" will be officially released October 2, 2009 at the JazzTrax festival. It is available for pre-order via email. Reservations are highly recommended as this small edition will sell out fast.

OK, OK - from top left: Candy Dulfer, Nick Colionne, Mindi Abair, Steve Oliver and Stan Sargeant all dropped by to check out their art pieces. Who will you run into this year?

A Bridge to Hope |
A Bridge to Hope, a music festival benefiting Lazarex Cancer Foundation, presented their inaugural event September 26, 2009 to a very enthusiastic crowd. Bettie Grace Miner was proud and honored to be a part of this extraordinary charity event. The art tells a heartfelt story of hope for both those receiving and offering it, surrounded by the City by the Bay. The artwork created for A Bridge to Hope will be auctioned to raise funds that will pay for medical treatment of people with end-stage cancer. Greeting cards, T-Shirts and other merchandise featuring the artwork is available by order through Lazarex. More information is available on the Lazarex Cancer Foundation website: A Bridge to Hope

"Music Angel"
The Jackie Robinson
Foundation Presents the 4th Annual "Jazz on The Grass"
"Inspired by the March on Washington, Jackie and Rachel Robinson
in 1963 organized a jazz concert at their home to raise bail money for
jailed freedom fighters. An instant success, the concert attracted some
of the most recognizable artists of the day. Forty-six years later, JRF
still uses jazz's cultural wealth to benefit its programs. For the past
three years, "JAZZ on the Grass" has evoked the intimate atmosphere of
the early concerts, combined with a stellar line-up, great food and fun."
Bettie Grace Miner contributed "Music Angel" which will be auctioned to benefit The Jackie Robinson Foundation.
All
proceeds from JAZZ on the Grass will benefit the Jackie Robinson
Foundation's scholarship, mentoring and leadership development
programs.
Come and enjoy an intimate afternoon of great friends, food, silent auction and jazz!
