Greetings! With the start of a new year, a new President and renewed hope for all, I wish you all the best for 2009. The new year is getting off to a rocking start. It seems like I've been locked away in my studio for months, not that I'm complaining, I love my job! I've been working on a lot of new art, and believe it or not, it's not all Jazz Art. A whole new Miner Works of Art website will be launched very soon and I'll finally get to share some new art with you. There is a whole series of Wine Art and Decor pieces, and you may be surprised to see an entire gallery of Fine Art Photography...real photography, not Polaroids. I'll share it all with you really (really) soon. I am also working on a new series of pieces featuring dancers. If you or someone you know is a dancer, get in touch, you might be a great model for one of the pieces. I'm finally taking a vacation. After not taking one for at least six years the Smooth Music Cruise in the Bahamas is just the kind of vacation that I love. Of course, I won't be away from art for very long. I'll come back with lots of pictures to share. With a little bit of luck I'll be seeing you soon. If you're coming on the cruise with me, I'll see you even sooner! "Midnight Jam" by Bettie Grace Miner A "Sneak" Preview of the Smooth Music Cruise Poster created by artist Bettie Grace Miner. The entire image will be unveiled on January 31, 2009 on board the Celebrity Century. Bettie has been creating the commemorative poster art for this cruise since the beginning. This is the fourth collectible poster in the series and for the first time it will be a VIP gift to all cruisers. There will be opportunities to get autographs from all the jazz stars, and Bettie Grace Miner will be at one of the autograph sessions to personally sign your poster. A tip from Bettie: Bring your own tube to transport the poster safely home. Bringing tubes on-board for everyone proved to be very cumbersome, so those in the know will bring their own. You can get a tube (for free) from the post office or your favorite shipper (UPS, FedEx) and either ship it home to yourself, or pack in your luggage.

Art Print Order Deadline Extended: Please place your order by Thursday, January 22, 2009, to receive the prints in time to bring them with you on the Smooth Music Cruise. Fine Art Matted Jazz Prints of the featured cruise artists can still be ordered in time to take them on the cruise for autographs. If you are on the West Coast, they can arrive with standard shipping. Others can receive them by expedited shipping services. Prints are available in sizes from 8x10 to 16x20. There are still a few custom 10x10 prints, but when they're gone, they are gone! Even if you're not going on the cruise, you can take advantage of this offer. Hint: The prints make A great Bon Voyage or Valentine gift, or go ahead and treat yourself! Gift with Fine Art Purchase: When you place an order of $95.00 or more this week, you will receive all three of the previous cruise posters at no charge. Donald Patterson releases "Family." His debut contemporary smooth jazz CD with a touch of R&B features top recording artists Peter White, Kirk Whalum, Doc Powell and others. CD Artwork for "Family" was created by Bettie Grace Miner. The "straight ahead" photography reveals a warm, genuine family man and talented musician. "Family" is a release of Global Music Alternative LLC and can be purchased on CD Baby.
A new release in "The Midnight Show" series now includes saxophonist Justin Young. Justin's parents were at Spaghettini Grill & Jazz Club in Seal Beach, California when they first saw "The Midnight Show" collection. Mrs. Young contacted Bettie Grace Miner to commission a piece in the series of Justin as a surprise holiday gift for Justin's father.
The piece now hangs in the Young home in Michigan and Mr. Young said it was the best surprise his wife ever pulled off!

Phil & Carol Prado won the Jazz FM 88.1, KSBR auction for a Luxury Cabin on the Smooth Music Cruise! The cabin was donated to KSBR by Impress Communications, official printer of the commemorative 2009 Smooth Music Cruise poster. Congratulations Phil & Carol! See you on the ship.
