  • Greetings!

Greetings on this Happy Valentine's Day! I hope this finds you enjoying chocolate, flowers, "sparkily" things, and most of all the love of your dearest ones.

I would like to thank everyone that came to the San Diego All Star Festival and hung out with me, it was great to see you. We have a winner for the Norman Brown Giclee drawing (see below).

There is new art to share and new opportunities for original commissions for you - now that I'm spending more time in my studio. But don't fear that I will become a studio potato, there are a lot of fun "Smooth Jazz" events coming up and I hope to catch you there!

    Warm Regards,

    Bettie Grace Miner

All Star Music Festival - Giclee Winner!
    Giclee Winner

    And the WINNER is.....

Kevin Thomas won the Grand Prize. From the stage at the All Star Music Festival, presented by Nick Colionne with his famous assistants Paul Taylor and Althea Rene' along with KIFM 98.1 drawing the winners, the crowd erupted in huge cheers and applause for Kevin (apparently a smooth jazz favorite among the fans) when his name was drawn as the Grand Prize winner of the hand embellished limited edition canvas giclee of Host and guitarist extraordinaire, Norman Brown, by Bettie Grace Miner.

Winning second and third prizes ~ an 11x14 matted fine art print were Janine Martusceni and Pam Miller.

Thanks to Cary Gillaspie (www.scenicjazz.com) for the photos! "Cary is always looking for the beauty of people and places of God's earth."

City of Lights Rhythm & Blues Festival
    Norman Brown

Speaking of Norman Brown - the guy really gets around! The portrait of Norman, by Bettie Grace Miner, is featured in the promotion for The 16th Annual City of Lights Rhythm & Blues Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Check out this annual party with many of your favorite artists: Norman Brown, Paul Taylor, Bobby Caldwell, and Greg Adams ~ to name just a few of the incredible acts that will be playing at the festival.

    Maybe I'll see you there!

    From My Heart
    Hearts

"Hearts" speak to us, especially on Valentine's Day. So in honor of all our Sweethearts may I introduce a new series of images.

There are five hearts in the series (so far) and they are available as 16"x16" to 40"x40" limited edition fine art prints on paper or canvas (giclee). Introductory prices range from $195 ~ $3000.

Left to right are: "Wild Heart" ~ "Blue Heart" ~ "Red Hot Heart" and "Soft Heart." The fifth image (not depicted here) is "Sweet Heart" ~ in pale, very soft shades of pink, teal, lavender and yellow.

Note: This is a pre-release and will be available on the website by March 15. Prices reflect a 15% discount during February.

    Commissioned Family Portraits
    Zuniga Quadruplets

    Family Portraits

Photographing families, children, couples, and yes - even the beloved four legged family members is one of my most heartfelt endeavors.

Portrait commissions by Bettie Grace Miner can be arranged by contacting the artist. Packages are available in sizes from large canvas prints to 5"x7" personalized greeting cards and created with traditional photography or fine art paintings.

This portrait from a fun photo session with the Zuniga family show their 6 year old quadruplets. Dr. Gabriel Zuniga DDS, Pasadena, California, has been improving my smile while I photograph his lovely family.

P.S. If you need a dentist - I LOVE Dr. Zuniga (and you will, too...I promise)!

    In The News

    In the News:

Bettie was so excited to be profiled this month by the APA (Advertising Photographers of America). As a fine art photographer and Painter, she felt a bit out-gunned by the big boys that do all the cool advertising photography. But check it out - look who's being highlighted this month!

And in case you are interested in a little (non-art) history about Bettie Grace Miner - she was also featured in the first Newsletter published by Estrin Legal Education.

Hint to finding the interview: Follow the link and click on "Free Articles" then find the third article from the bottom of the list entitled "Paralegal and Artiste Extraordinaire" and click on "View" to read the Word document (whew).

    Where's Bettie?
